'Calling fascism "right wing" is a fabrication by the leftists to disassociate itself from Hitler.'
How can that be when european fascism existed before Hitler came to power? Fascism was originally a reaction against the libertarian values of the French Revolution and was as anti-liberal as any member of this board, to quote Benito Mussolini:
"Fascism, which was not afraid to call itself reactionary... does not hesitate to call itself illiberal and anti-liberal."
'Fascism and communism are branches growing from the same Marxist tree.'
All modern branches of politics derive from that same philosophical tree, that is the deliberations and reactions against the French revolution by Rousseau, Hegel, Marx and Nietzsche which resulted in Marxism, socialism, national socialism, fascism, modern liberalism, modern conservatism, communism and of course capitalist democracy.
The fact that the Nazis oprated a command economy leading up to and during WW2 does not make them Marxist - all govts including that of the US become increasingly command and less laissez-faire at times of war out of necessity.
To me there is no need to argue against fascism being right-wing because it makes our current neo-conservative aims look bad - we can stand on our own feet and what we believe is self-evidently right, so no rewriting of history by right-wingers to distance themselves from the nazis is necessary either.
Many of the ideals classically associated with fascism are also strongly held by many on this board, that does not make this board fascist. Here are some excellent examples we all agree with, but which were classically used to define fascism:
Typical pommie arrogance. You have no idea from where I get my understanding of the UK. So go ahead and sit unarmed behind your locked doors, gazing lovingly at your letters from Maggie while your country outside devolves into a cesspit of yobbery, impotence, and EUrosocialistic malaise.
Or perhaps I'm completely wrong about old blighty. In that case it will be only a small matter for you to link me to the sites that demonstrate the strength of the doctrines of individualism, patriotism, free enterprise, and robust self-defense, individual and national. You know, like the British versions of FreeRepublic, National Review, AEI, NRA, Heritage Foundation, Cato Institute, Manhattan Institute, etc., etc.
In other words, stuff the pedantry regarding conservatism vs. Conservatism, show me where you lot are still actually putting up a fight against the forces of evil.
Oh great! Now I'll be thinking about that all night.... with only turkey-mystery-meat-slices to eat.
That Britain stood besides America in Afghanistan and Iraq when much of the rest of Europe failed to do so, that Tony Blair stood beside George Bush when other leaders refused, that the most recent PEW study showed that America and Bush were far more pouplar in Britain than any other European country (he probably has a higher popularity rating in Britain than in the US) show that what you say is balderdash.
Maybe when all these factors change, there will be validity in what you say.
Till then put a sock in it and get over that particularly unattractive chip on your shoulder, there;s a good fellow.
That "much of the rest of Europe" is worse is faint praise for Britain.
Is that all you can come up with? Pretty lame. Most FReepers do a good job at attempting to stand up their positions. It's a shame we can't count you among that majority.
You fling insults as if that's a substitute for intelligent argument. I said what I had to say to another poster above. You jumped in with a trivial reply and I swatted it away. Now you complain. Boring.
I'm so sorry, Rogue Yam. I hadn't realised that I had intruded on a private thread where only invited members were allowed to comment!
You say worthless things because you are unable to say intelligent things.
It's interesting to see that just in your last few posts you have called one poster "an ignorant retard", another "an idiot", and a third "dumb". You've also labelled the same posters "stupid", "stooges" and "retarded savages".
Can I suggest, as someone with concern for my fellow FReepers, that you enroll in an anger managment course?
I think you'd feel so much better, you poor old thing.
