The poor image that Islam enjoys in the US is entirely of their own making. If CAIR spent more time discouraging barbaric behavior among their co-religionists, and less time whining about discrimination and image problems, they'd make headway a lot faster.

If they have a significant media message (i.e. obtaining and publicizing fatwas declaring that Islam requires unreserved aid and cooperation to civil authorities in suppressing terrorism), then by all means go ahead.

If, however, it's the same tired old talking points, they might as well save their money.
