I wish we'd get together with Russia and really go in and just wreak havoc. This can't go on.

Hm.
Wonder if Russia might be rethinking the whole "we're against the US being in Iraq" idea about now.

How sad for those people and their families. They really need prayer right now. And I'll be praying that Russia deals with this appropriately.

If memory serves did the Russians not have some diplomats killed in the 80's in the ME? If I remember the story correctly the culprits were caught and delivered to their family in pieces. True or not I don't know.

If I remember the story correctly the culprits were caught and delivered to their family in pieces. I recall when Iran kidnapped and held the American hostages, they kidnapped some Russians as well. Russia delivered a few clerics to Iranian authorities with their body parts rearranged. End of Russian captivity.

I have always felt that if Mecca vanished, it would be like releasing these people from an evil spell. They are very geographically fixated in their death cult, and vaporizing the black box and the moon rock inside it would make the whole cult dissolve.

Although the Arab bloodline might be a contributing factor, the real underlying source of the bloothirsty mental state is the cult if Islam. Unfortunately, until the world wakes up and acknowledges that fact, we will continue to see terrorists and violence of this nature.

For some reason, I am reminded of the Italian hostage who said "I will show you how an Italian dies" just before they shot him. I don't think I'll ever forget that.
The Russians have their own problems with this ROP - this will only kick them up a notch. And they are not nearly so PC as the US is.

There was a meeting in London during the early stages of WWI when France was trying to get England involved. The English General Haig asked the French how many troops they should send, General Foch said, "Send 1 and I will be sure he is killed". Russia, welcome aboard.

Exactly. The Russkis are even more toothless now than they were back when we thought they had teeth and it turns out they didn't.

I hate to say this, but I doubt they will do anything.I dunno...I recall reading a few years ago that some Chechnyan muslims had captured and killed a couple of Russian soldiers in a Chechnyan town. Within a few days the muslims and many of their family members had been shot, mutilated, and dumped in the town square. There were no more attacks on Russian soldiers. I'll try to find the source on this.

Yeah and the libs want compassionate treatment for these terrorists, right! These terrorists fight under no flag and no uniform, they are illegal combatants and therefore are not protected by any treaty. Everyone of these animals should be summarily executed on the spot and leave their bodies to rot wrapped in pig skin. Let's see how these animals fill their ranks if we do this! This is war and we should commit to win. Leave the laws to apply to sovereign nations and civilized society.

After Russian special forces stormed the theater in Moscow three or four years ago to rescue hostages held by Islamic terrorists dead Muslims were buried secretly after being wrapped in pigskins. I'd like to see these guys turned loose in Haditha.

Very stupid. Russia has always been a brake on stronger efforts to democratize Iraq, throughout the 1990s, the debate over the 2003 invasion and thereafter. Any intelligent terrorist group would seek to ingratiate itself with Russia, or at least to continue Russia's past "let's futz with the USA's policy" policy.

That was part of the plotline in one of the Ender books - that it had already happened, and the attitude among muslims was that the worldwide dispersal of all the atoms of Mecca had made the whole world holy ground. Orson Scott Card seems to have a more benign view of Islam than I do.

I keep seeing this but the real enemy is ignorance and poverty. We have leapfrogged the rest of the world technologically. In the old days we would have unloaded the gatlin gun on em because we were closer to em in terms of civility. Now it's like we are the eloi and the pitiful rest of the world the morlocks. It's not Islam. It's backwardness. It's no different from stirring up a nest of American Aboriginals. Or South African Zulu. Neither were muslim and both were savage in their methods or warfare. Nothing new under the sun.
