NEW YORK -- Prosecutors are accusing John "Junior" Gotti and his family of living lavishly on Long Island with a swimming pool, a horse barn and a staff of gardeners, drivers and housekeepers, while Gotti claims he is going broke.
Prosecutors wrote in a letter to U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin that the lifestyle is especially surprising since Gotti has been in jail or on home detention for the last eight years and his wife does not appear to have a full-time job outside the home.

Sounds like a reason to get a warrant to search the home for records regarding tax evasion and so forth.

I hate to defend someone I consider to be a criminal, but imagine you are accused of serious crime, the govt has all the resources to prosecute you as hard as the want, you have what? You get a couple hung juries, they still have lots of money, you have little or nothing left. Billy Dale comes to mind, as do a few other folks. How many shots should they take? Innocent till proven guilty needs to work for everyone. The Feds have loads of money and like him or not, maybe JGjr isn't guilty of trying to do in Sliwa? There are others that dislike him too, and we are talking New York here, aren't we?
Easy to explain. Go to the Godfather. Hyman Roth was just a pensioner living off his investments.
And OJ's innocent, too.

There is a show on cable about the Gottis. Maybe thats where the money is coming from...*rolls eyes*

I knew J.G. senior would have done something about the IRS and reforming the tax code... and he looked good in a tailored suit...
And just maybe Gotti got all of the money to support a his lavish lifestyle from the Easter Bunny...
