Protest/Vigil regarding the two tortured and slaughtered American soldiers.
The following is an announcement regarding a protest/vigil this Friday in the Los Angeles area organized by a new organization called the Sons of Washington.
From the Sons of Washington:
It has come to light now the manner in which our captured soldiers were slaughtered recently. Their eyes were cut out, and they were then beheaded while still conscious.

Condemnation of the overall silence of Islamic organizations in America regarding the brutal slayings of two captured American soldiers, Pfc. Thomas Tucker & Pfc. Kristian Menchaca. The Sons of Washington are asking Muslim leaders to publicly condemn the terrorist perpetrators by name, including al- Zarqawi's successer, Abu Hamza al-Muhajer. Will Muslim leaders stand with us in condemnation? Come out to honor the memory of these two heroes, and show condemnation of Islamic militancy.

Search yahoo news for the words "beheaded" and you'll see all the articles, that was officially stated by the Military. The fact that their eyes were cut out was reported to me from several sources but I can't find an article right now on it, the media is being really quiet about the causes of death to 'limit Islamophobic sentiments' no doubt.

Fortunately, I live in an almost all red state, NC. Both Senators are Conservative Republicans.
Hey now! Do not throw the baby with the bathwater. This is the state that brought you Nixon and Reagan. I agree the politics are a mess here right now, but California consistently ranks in the top 3 of FreeRepublic donations, and raises lots of money for GOP, Conservative and Libertarian programs. DO NOT ABANDON US. We fight the good fight against terrible odds, and one day we will win this state over again.

We will win it in the courts, we will win it in the streets. It will take time, but the leftist establishment will crack. To crack it we must understand how it happened in the first place, and it began with Pat Brown who greatly expanded state agencies and large school systems to build for his party a built-in block of voters to pander to.
But it is not sustainable. The schools are a mess and its only a matter of time before they get broken up. A majority of African American parents want school choice. We must win them over and get a voucher program in this state. That will be a major step.
Also, quietly, there are people taking our fights for 2nd Amendment rights into federal court, exposing the racist intent and application of the "may issue" system granted to our sheriffs and police cheifs by the state government. It is no coincidence that the extremely vast majority of gun permits have been and continue to be granted to white men of political power. It is an abuse of discretion and precedent on other issues has been set that will be applied to this issue.
A strong majority voted to preserve marriage as an institution between a man and a woman, due in no small part to our Catholic Hispanic population.
Ad hoc coalitions are being formed that will chip away at the leftist dogmatic elite that attempt to rule this state. Their agenda will fall one by one. It's only a matter of time.
And if they do, then what?

where do you see me "blaming" everyone in my statement? I can rephrase my post - this should be done at every mosque in every state where mosque members have remained silent regarding the torture of our soldiers.
You and others on this thread are imputing agreement with terrorist tactics to any American Muslim who doesn't do what you want them to do. Many did the same thing when American Muslims (who were scared to death of a backlash anyway) didn't march in the streets against terrorists (with whom they have nothing in common, including the bastardized version of Islam that the terrorists adhere to) after 9/11.
This is taking out your anger against American Muslims, who had nothing to do with and would have nothing to do with torturing American soldiers.
I don't get this. It is a mob mentality that demands that innocent people somehow atone for the sins of guilty terrorists.

Thanks. California is a great state. It has its problems of course, but the debates of our time favor the GOP. However, the GOP party in the state is still strongly in the hands of the social right, who will never win in this state unless the DNC runs a real big loser (like Carter). On the issues of public policy the GOP can win. But when the social right calls them 'rinos' and refuses to vote for "the better" because it's not "the best", it undermines the ability of the GOP to build upon these natural coalitions of ideas.
Sort of like the way the IL GOP chose Alan Keyes to run for Senate. I love Alan Keyes, I'd vote for him for just about any office, but he was a poor choice if you could accept a winner that would only incrementally advance some of your causes instead of losing, out of mere principle & self righteousnessm, to those who would set back your causes.
Progress will not happen in one election cycle. But it definitely will not happen if you can't win an election. Believe it or not, many of the upper middle class baby boomers will admit they voted for Goldwater, and they would be receptive to candidates who were like Goldwater today (though, ironically, they don't understand the parallel between Goldwater's anti-communism and Bush's anti-violent Islamic totalitarianism).
But now I'm soundling like a GOP party hack, which I am not. I am a registered Republican, but sympathetic to the libertarian camp. And that camp can win in this state.
