Redneck Power! Billy Carter’s Pickup on eBay

While Jimmy Carter has fared better in the public imagination as an ex-President than he did as Commander in Chief, his rather colorful brother Billy passed away in 1988 at age 51 from pancreatic cancer. We were very young when Carter was pres, but we do, in the dark recesses of our mind, remember the hubbub about Billy Beer (which we didnt understand back then; all we heard was beer. Mmmm
beer
). We dont, however, remember this pickup, built as a full-size version of a Revell model kit. Click over and check it out, and note the sweet in-dash digital clock. State of the art in ride-pimping, circa 1977.

I do wish America had a longer memory. We had double digit inflation during that time, interest rates were > 20% and Jimmy Carter wouldn't have stood up for America if they'd knocked on his door. (He'd have probably built th em a house.) What a loser and the MSM gives him a pass. Jerks.

I remember when Billy Carter had some dealings with Omar Khaddafi in Libya. Bob Hope had a line that "the main difference between Jimmy Carter and his brother was that Billy had a foreign policy."

I remember the "grizzly rabbit" incident vividly. I also remember trying to buy a house when the interest rates were around 16%.

I should note that it is correctly identified as a pickup. It can not be a truck unless it says FORD on it.

Jimmy Carter was responsible for me going into the Navy. The economy was so sour the only place I could find a job was with Uncle Sam.
Jimmy was also responsible for the 14% interest I paid on my first house in 1982.
I still hear people say he was a good president. I can't believe my ears. Jimmy Carter was the worst president in the last half of the 20th century, by far. A case could be made for him to be the worst ever.
And I don't care how many darn houses the old bitter commie builds.

You're right, we remember. The Carter administration, beginning with his inauguration, was a complete fiasco and embarrassment. Carter was a clown.
[Do you recall Carter, during his campaign, referencing his naval experiences with Admiral Zumwalt? Zumwalt fired back that he didn't remember any Jimmy Carter.]

While Jimmy Carter has fared better in the public imagination as an ex-President than he did as Commander in Chief, Who wrote this sh*t!?! Fidel and all of Jimmuh's other dictator pals.
As president he destroyed America's military, morale and economy. He betrayed some of our staunchest allies (Taiwan and Iran) and nearly destroyed the country in the process. As an ex-president he has been completely open about in embracing America's enemies.
The only thing I will never understand is why the Iranian Islamofascists burned his effigy every day, he was the best thing that EVER happened to them.
