Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television has aired a video of Al Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri vowing to avenge the death of the network's Iraq frontman Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Zarqawi was killed in a United States air raid in Iraq on June 7.
In the video, Zawahiri is seated in front of a picture of Zarqawi.
He addresses US President George W Bush directly.
"Yes O Bush, none of us is killed without us avenging him, with the help of God," he said.
"Do you remember, O Bush, how the lion of Islam, the mujahed [holy warrior] Osama bin Laden, God keep him, swore that America will not be able to dream of security until it becomes a reality in Palestine and all Muslim lands?"
Zawahiri also blasts Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, saying he "trades with Islam" for power.
He describes US Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad as "the Afghan apostate".
Zawahiri says Zarqawi "died under bombardment" and not in hiding, and never shed his "explosives belt".
Zarqawi was hiding like a coward with his leopard skin nightie. Never forget that, Zawahiri..

But it was "outrageous" that he was "tortured" as he was carried out on a stretcher.
If the medics really wanted to torture Zarqawi, they wouldn't have used a stretcher
I want to see the look of surprise on Zawahiri's face when a Predator fires a Hellfire missile up his a**.
Maybe these worms will get really mad and come out from under the rocks that hide them. What can they possible do that they haven't already done or planned to do? Maybe they'll start killing women and children or beheading American captives.
