He is trying to bull shit himself into being the Republican nominee for President in the '08 election. The media are, for reasons of their own, are doing all they can to insure that comes about. I also believe that the Republican hierarchy are, behind the scene, pushing a Mc Cain tick with all their might.

What the media realizes that Mc Cain supporters, on this forum and elseswhere, refuse to accept is that a Mc Cain ticket will ensure a Democrat win.

IIRC, the speech was the eulogy he gave at Lenin's funeral.

Stalin also had Lenin's will placed in his casket -- which clearly stated that Stalin was NOT to be his successor.

This from a guy who is in love with is amnesty bill, which will cost the government zillions. He picks a strange time to be somewhat conservative.

McCain is the only Republican who can win the general election. If we become like the Dems in the nomination versus the electability of the nominee the GOP will lose the White House. The Dems FUBAR when they changed their party rules governing the selection of delegates to their convention to assure proportional representation of internal divergent groups circa 1976, they assured themselves that, within a short time, the person who could gain the nomination could not win the election (Clinton was the exception to the rule based on personal charisma). If the GOP repeats that miscue, the result will be analogous.

He's so full of crap. He's just spent the last 6 years doling it out as fast as he can shovel. Now he wants us to believe he's a fiscal conservative?

McCain is out of his mind and will never be allowed near the football for that reason.

You must be a young'un. "Circa 1976" = 1972. McGovern helped change the rules and got the nomination (the riots in Chicago in '68 were the impetus). Regarding McCain as the nominee in 08, I hope you're wearing flame-proof undies!

McQueeg is NOT "the only Republican who can win the general election". Hell, he can't even win the GOP primary!

Vets HATE McLame.

Everyone who knows his part in the CFR HATES him!

Conservatives, who are the ones who would crawl through flames and broken glass to vote in a primary, unlike most others, HATE him.

The press USED to "LOVE" him, because he was seen as a "maverick"....read that word as a GOPer who is more than willing to trash the GOP; as well as President Bush. Now, that he is talking about another presidential run and is trying to woo the disaffected ( tread those who HATE, LOATHE, and ABJUR him )GOPers/Conservatives, by murmuring sort of "conservative" words, the MSM HATE him.

Yet you claim that he is the GOP's only hope at winning the White House in '08? Are you nuts, or just terribly ill informed?

I think the Condi Rice trial balloons are an attempt by the GOP establishment to stir up an alternative to McCain. What I hope for is a real conservative candidate who can campaign hard and win. I don't see anyone out there now but I think McCain is deeply disliked by the powers that be in the Republican Party. On this one, I am in full agreement with them.
