The funniest line in the whole article?

"In a rare reference to his days as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, McCain said...."

McCain is the only Republican who can win the general election.

That statement is a big pile of unadulterated horse manure

He can't even win the primary.

And THAT makes me wonder if you really know McQueeg's history.
Goodness knows, you've been here long enough to see all of the factual threads that have been posted here for years. Either you have not read any of them, or blindly discounted all of the info in them.

Conservatives, who are the ones who would crawl through flames and broken glass to vote in a primary, unlike most others, HATE him.

Gee, I can't believe you left off:

"HATE him" with a deep burning abiding passion

Oh' did I mention I hate McCain and would actively work against him?

How much of the out of control spending did he himself vote for? I'm not sure, but I would guess quite a bit of it.

I haven't gone back to look at McCain's voting habits..and or Arizona projects that he would include in a bill.

However, IF the Senate Immigration Bill, that has HIS name on it...with Kennedy's, would be passed,

IT would be the most humongous waste of money EVER voted on since he has been in Congress...and yet he is pushing FOR it.

Good grief that's the precise line I was going to highlight, LOL.

Great summary in post #51.

I enjoyed # 51 too. Sort of captures the real McCain. He's all about headlines, soundbites, posturing, and being sucked up to by fawning reporters. When did all that happen?

I remember watching the Keating Five hearings, and I don't remember another thing about McCain until wa-la-la, he's an "influencial senator", adored as a renegade, and somehow, presidential material. I don't get it.

Unfortunately it's a reflection of the times we live in. Clinton is now hailed as a great President; OJ Simpson hosts a TV show and others of notoriety suddenly become heroes in the eyes of the sheeple.

I cannot wait until the fawning reporters turn on McEgo once the democratic candidate is selected in 2008. I hope he's left standing in a corner with his other "Gang of 14" cohorts wondering where they went wrong.

One other point that sends my hairs on end. Disingenous GOP pundits are now referring to the Kennedy/McCain Immigration bill as the Kennedy bill or (I believe I heard) the Kennedy/Durbin bill. Shame on the GOP for believing we're not paying attention.

I've read each and every one. I am able to form my own conclusion from the facts while, at the same time, discarding the hyperbole, venom and ruse statements. I sincerely regret that the fact of my differing perspective bothers anyone. But I'm certain everyone will get over it.

I can understand John Kerry trying to run left of Hillary and Russ Feingold, courting the celebrity cash, the far left fringe, etc. But how in the world does John McCain think his associations with Kennedy & Co will enhance his presidential chances?

McCain is an idiot if he thinks democrats will support him against Hillary or any democrat for that matter. And doesn't he know the MSM's love affair with him will end the minute he's the republican's candidate for president? Man oh man, ego sure clouds judgement.

His stance on illegal aliens alone betrays any sense of fiscal responsibility. RINO hypocrite.

McCain attaching himself to the memory of President Reagan as his "disciple" is beyond vile. This man has no shame.

McCain for president?

Just say no.

It's not that it "bothers" people; at least not me, but rather, that it is such a VERY strabge position for one to take.

You discount the fact that he is a crook ( the Keating 5 ), told the Cong, when they found him and without them torturing him, that he was the son and grandson of Admirals, got his rank and wings because of who his father and grandfather were, divorced a loyal but ailing first wife, to marry a younger, wealthy, more connected ( and boy oh boy was his second F-I-L WELL connected...to the MOB! ) woman, pushed through the damned CFR, and on and on and on. Fine, now we all know how your mind works. :-)

A guess: Moderate dems will not vote for a Feingold or Kerry and the thought of another Clinton in the WH, is not appealing. They may join the independents and look at a candidate who they believe is a straight talker, has worked closely with the dems, and can bring unity in DC.

He undoubtedly feels he's gaining support from the moderates in the GOP (notice his speaking to a sold out crowd) and is now attempting to convince conservatives he's a Reagan disciple. Will they all be fooled -- no way -- but some may believe the BS he's spewing. He's banking on Hillary being the nominee hoping moderates in both parties and conservatives holding their nose to vote, will bring him over the top. God help us!

It ain't gonna work!

All of his fund raising drives/dinners in New York have come a cropper; with almost NOBODY donating any money and what he has taken in, has been paltry.
