Murder wave hits US ‘exburbs’

Researchers are re-examining potential crime-breeding factors, from the role of abortions in poor communities — theoretically preventing criminals being born — to the spread of more lethal weapons.

Only those researchers who haven't looked at demographics recently. Crime rates regularly follow birth rates with about a twenty year delay. The reductions followed the decrease in births among the majority in the 60's, the increase is now following the high reproductive rate among the new majority.

No real surprise. Youths are more violent than seniors and poorly educated, poorly parented, kids are more violent than well educated, well raised kids. The demographics explain about 75 percent of the increase, and the more or less complete collapse of the American culture of responsibility and self-reliance makes up the rest of it.

I will say this, whenever I turn on the news and they have arrest someone for a newsworthy (really bad) crime, it is almost always a black and not an illegal.
