Left-Wing Magazine Blasts Hillary

The country's leading left-wing publication, The Nation, has turned on liberal darling Hillary Clinton in a scathing article headlined "Hillary's Hypocrisy."
The article by Robert Scheer begins: "How do you triangulate among death, hypocrisy and stupidity? Not at all logically, which is why Hillary Clinton's dissembling on Iraq has become a fatal embarrassment, not only for her, but for anyone who hopes she can provide progressive leadership for the nation.
"If she still has not found the courage to reverse course on this disastrous war, why assume that as president she would behave any differently?"
Scheer writes that it is "unconscionable" that many who oppose the war in Iraq prefer Clinton to potential 2008 presidential rivals John Kerry, John Edwards, Al Gore, and Russ Feingold, who have all called for the U.S. to extricate itself from the conflict.
The Nation article cites Clinton's recent statement that she doesn't think it is "smart strategy to set a date certain" for withdrawing from Iraq. "I do not agree that that is in the best interests."
Scheer writes: "Clinton needs to stop prattling on about getting the Iraqi government to do this or that wonderful thing before we can pull out."
He concludes that Hillary's supporters "are eager to win back at least one branch of Congress in the midterm election in order to revitalize our Constitution's bedrock system of checks and balances and are looking to Clinton to help get them there.
"But what check or balance is Sen. Clinton presenting on the most pressing issue of the day? None."

Scheer is living in 'what was' during the Clinton years. He apparently doesn't understand what a nation meant when they voted twice for GWB. A leader is what this nation asked for and it is a leader we got. All the Dems have got are the leftovers that they keep proffering, Kerry, Edwards, Algore and Feingold - losers all.
The left has undermined the WOT to the point No One wants democratic leadership (an oxymoron). Hillary isnt going to do anything about the terrorists or the WOT - and everyone knows it.

This is great, great news. The Dems are hopelessly split over the war. If they nominate Hillary, there will be a third party anti-war candidate, and the Dems are toast. If they nominate an anti-war candidate, they are toast.
It's all good.

The Liberals are not mad at her. It is a ploy to make her look like a rebirth of the scoop jackson democrat by having the left wing turds of the dimwit party howel that she is no progressive this or liberal that.
McCain is playing the same strategy. Get A Bunch of conservatives to right nasty things about him in which he will use to play up his "Maverick Savior" of the party role, that he and the MSM created.

From Ronald Radosh's terrific book "COMMIES" page 108.
"Scheer said he would talk on the record about only one topic--the only one that mattered--the realization of the socialist utopia in North Korea.
For over two hours, Sheer talked about the paradise he had seen during a recent visit to North Korea, about the greatness of Kim il-Sung, about the correct nature of his "juche" ideology....Sheer's interest in North Korea was the result of its offer of sanctuary to his protege, Black Panther Eldridge Cleaver, who fled there to escape prosecution. While there, Cleaver released a half-hour documentary film in which he talked on camera to Scheer and extolled the virtues of his new communist paradise(Cleaver would soon leave the juche paradise and return to the US as a Conservative Republican, appearing with WF Buckley on firing line, denoucing the REDS and the Black Panthers)
Meanwhile, Radosh returned to America with the Scheer documentary and played it for the farleft Pacifica radio
WBAI and it was too far out for even the farout to air it.

Robert Scheer has never had a lucid thought, so why Newsmax would give him credibility in this case is a mystery. Oh, wait. It is a criticism of Hillary, the bread and butter of Newsmax.

I'm not sure that The Nation deserves the label of the leading left-wing publication (even when restricting it to magazines). Harper's Magazine, The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone all have greater circulation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't think a single modern POTUS that the American people have elected, who was not an optimist. ........................................................... Now I DO remember Jimmy Carter talking about malaise that had fallen on the American people -- But I also remember a bright tooth-filled grin, and a happy farmer shaking farmers hands in Iowa and New Hampshire. And the malaise came after the grin -- Just before he was defeated by the ultimate optimist. ................................................. I Also remember LBJ, who, so the stories go, had a terrible temper -- but he too, didn't show that face to the public. ..................................................... I even know that all sorts of temperment are needed to make the world work. There is a need for stern faced serious minded men and women in government -- people like Bob Dole, Tom "The Hammer Delay, and maybe {if you're a dem, Edmund Muskie, Walter Mondale, John Kerry, or even hillary clinton.} ....................................................... But we don't elect those "dark" personalities as President. hillary will never be President. She's not a threat.

This is absolutely true. This is nothing more than a ruse to portray Hillary as some sort of moderate. What's surprising is how many people forget that everything the Clintons do has political calculus behind it. I don't know whats more depressing about this--how many people actually buy this crap, or how stupid the politicians and the media think we are.

It's a trick. A scam to get her votes from the middle.
To: Reactionary
You are correct, my friend.
Hillary Rodham is indeed triangulating her way to the Dem nomination..
Some here, quite understandably, seem to overlook just who will be voting in the Dem primary. It's mainly folks who are willingly influenced by the media (and Hillary has a firm tentacle-hold on so very much of the media).
The tattooed and toothless don't read The Nation, but they will obediently follow media instructions (in English and Spanish) vote in droves for Hillary Rodham
but wait, there's more...
Two Primary Predictions favoring Hillary (if the race gets close)
First - - Would anyone here be surprised if Hillary's closest contender is suddenly under intense media fire with credible (and anonymous) reports about some past scandalous activities? Think FILEGATE here. And,
Second - - Watch for Hillary to become a super-splash headline VICTIM (This will be true for both the primary and the general election.) Victim about what? That's difficult to say for sure.
My first guess is that they'll easily reprise infidelity by her alleged husband the impeached and disbarred Mister Bill Clinton.
This would actually be a TWO-FER. Hillary could get the public sympathy she needs from the Democratic electorate, and she would have the grounds to change her last name to RODHAM (which I have predicted here many times.)
Hillary wins the Dem primary, going away. It's all over but the voting.

I sure would like that. I answered a survey yesterday for T.S.A. It started out with generalities, and quickly downgraded to all Hitlery all the time. I got a strong feeling that Hitlery is trying to find out how to adjust her public statements to fit what the public wants to hear. There were MANY statements by Hitlery which were read to me and I was then asked after each one to tell whether I approved or disapproved of her more than before. So I feel sure this poll was taken up by Hitlery's handlers.

All she has to do is keep the abortion group happy. More money comes from that than antiwar activism.
Plus by telling the antiwar groups to piss off, she allies herself with the abortionists and the moderate Dems who are for the war. She knows that if she was antiwar the Marxist tag would stick to her.
So now we have a group of potential lib candidates who are against this country and Hillary who is against this country but her positions don't show it and she cannot be hit for it.
The witch knows this game. She is married to the best at it.

No one has ever lost an election by opposing the views of guys like Robert Scheer.
Hitlery knows this and for the time being she couldn't care less about Scheer as she tacks right toward the nomination. There is still a lot of time in her planning to tack left so by this time next year Scheer will have convinced himself it was all a terrible misunderstanding.
Come the nominating convention, Scheer will be covered in Hitlery buttons and shouting himself hoarse.
To: finnigan2
Just one opinion here but I see the corrupt "shadow government" wanting this snake - The Hildabeast. She becomes even more electable if a real conservative gets the stupid faction's nominee. By a real conservative it is one that doesn't or hasn't attended CFR meetings, etc. However, a snake like McLame causes these globalists to chill & be bystanders because they own both.

I don't know, that opens up an ammo crate for the Repubs that may be good for even the spineless to pass up. Talk Radio and the Blogosphere will definitely pick up on it. It sets up a track record of being "duped". Bill "duped" her about his infidelity, and then GWB "duped" her into voting for the war in Iraq. The Repub line will go something along the lines , "Do the US people really want a leader who can be so easily lied to and tricked?"
