An Israeli aircraft fired a missile at a bridge in the central Gaza Strip on Tuesday as troops prepared for a threatened offensive into the territory, Palestinian witnesses said.
Israel has been planning a major push into the territory following the capture of an Israeli soldier by militants from Gaza on Sunday.
IDF on the move...
And it's on!
Kick their a$$ IDF.
Allahu fubar!
I'd like to see one big EMP det. Blow all the cell phones out.
From Drudge:
Israel Radio reports Israeli air strike and ground troop movement in northern Gaza...
This is shocking!
Palestinians have a bridge?
Surely they didn't build it themselves.
Surely.
Let's Hope!
bwahahahahah!
How I have prayed for that soldier, no telling what he is going through. God Bless Israel.

Godspeed Jewish soldiers! We've got your back.
Israeli Planes Attack Bridge in Gaza

ASSOCIATED PRESS
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) -
Israeli planes attacked a bridge in northern Gaza late Tuesday, Israel Radio reported, and Israeli tanks were said to be on the move, possibly signaling the start of a military operation.
Palestinian security forces said Israeli tanks were on the move near the Israeli village of Nahal Oz, a main Israeli staging area just outside Gaza, but they had not yet entered the territory.
Israel has been massing troops and armor around Gaza since Sunday, when Palestinian militants tunneled under the border and attack an Israeli army post at a Gaza crossing, killing two soldiers and abducting a third.
IDF force confirms to CNN INTNL that bridge has been struck but denies that IDF has entered GAZA.
That's okay. They can bomb the crap out of them from the air first, THEN go in with the tanks.
Godspeed IDF - Go like the wind!
I can't get into www.haaretzdaily.com, weird
I suspect that there'd be no need for the IDF to hit a bridge unless there was somebody on the bridge who was worth hitting.
try this, worked for me
http://www.haaretz.com/
Hmmm...me neither.
*ping*
I wonder what the significance of thsi bridge is?
>>Palestinians have a bridge?<<
Consider all that the Muslims contribute to the world of art, science and technology: well, there's, um, innovative roadside bombs, uh, effective beheading techniques...
No amount of dealing with that murdering dog Arafat got him back to his family.
Maybe it was Abbas'.. *dental* bridge? :)
WWIII?
Actually WWIV -- WWIII was begun in the 11th Century, declared in 1976 (Entebbe) and spread on 9/11.
Godspeed IDF....
Pray for Gilad Ben Aviva...
a bridge over ever more troubled waters!
Hmmm... Target practice?
Haaretz has a blurb about keeping the PA from moving forces around.
Only makes sense in prep for a general offensive into Gaza. We'll see, it's just after midnight over there, we shoudl know something in the next 4 or so hours.
I deeply resent Dr.Rice's remarks about "Giving diplomacy a chance"........!!!
They need to move from north to south and disarm all of the palestinians, and push them down to the egyption border. Filter through every single last one of them
Here's a blurb from J-Post:

"IAF aircraft blew up a bridge in the northern Gaza Strip shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
The army said that the strike was intended to prevent Hamas from removing kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit from the Gaza Strip, where he is being held captive."
And move onto another Islamic nations, but *sign* what a dream!
Haartez reporting another teenager taken and possibly dead already.

This is going to be the nail in the coffin for Hamas.
The Jews respond under "Chicago Rules"....
Semper Fi
I wonder if hizbulllah will make good on its threat it made yesterday to join in on the fray should IDF enter the Gaza Strip
You are correct about Arafat and at least Pres. Bush refused to deal with him for the most part. God Bless Ron Arad and may he be brought home safely.
| Israel fears soldier's captors will try to move him to Egypt; PM rejects Hamas claim he is ready to talk. 00:30 |
Are they going in as a rescue mission?

Palestinian terrorist (and planner of the Munich Olympic atrocities) Mahmoud Abbas
consoles Houda Ghalia after Palestinian and Hamas terrorists blew up her family
and then encouraged her to blame Israel.
She did. Then, only the traitorous MSM and Zonder PM-Olmert fell for the rouse.
Any and all US citizens and residents who see television cameras should dance with joy, if the IDF is in fact now moving into Gaza. It's a much better cause for celebration than that of the so-called "Palestinians" after 9/11.
"We are ready to confront any stupid act that the Zionists might commit," said Abu Obeida, spokesman for Hamas' military wing. "We are well prepared and God willing, we are not going to welcome them with flowers."
Better to return the abducted Israeli soldier before you're planted under the flowers, Abu.
Let me guess: the UN have called an emergency session and have threatened sanctions against Israel.
Ron Arad was captured in 1986...the pilot of his plane was rescued, Ron was caught, unfortunately. There have been reports that he was in an Iranian prison....and the leader of Hizbollah says that it is his understanding that Ron Arad is dead and his remains are "lost", whatever that means.
If anything happens to that captured IDF soldier the IDF is gonna put the gas pedal down and truck right thru GAZA wiping out hamas forever.
I agree. I pray for his safety and that the IDf rolls through Gaza.
