Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered special services to "find and destroy" the killers of four Russian diplomats taken hostage in Iraq.
The head of Russia's security services immediately pledged to see Putin's order carried out.

Who knows, maybe GazPutin will even stop cozying up to Iran, although I probably aiming too far.
We can help them.
I don't trust Putin and no many other Russians as far as I could throw them. But the staright talk is right on. Can you imagine the media orgasm that would occur if Bush used that language?
The killers could be appointed [i.e. manufactured for the occasion]. How is one to know that they are the real ones?
Is this a vigilante hit squad?
Russia needs to provide troops or police assistance if they want to have the license to kill.
I love it. Seek and destroy.
The title of this thread is incorrect. Russia has NOT said it would 'kill' the miscreants. Russia has stated clearly they would 'destroy' them. To 'kill' them would imply they are human, as opposed to the monsters they are (with apologies to actual monsters).
Good point. But who cares . Kill them all , then you will be certain.
You are correct. The Russians are ignorant savages.
Yeah, I sympathize with them and would gladly point them in the right direction. But they need to work with us and the Iraqis and not cause a PR disaster that we get blamed for.
Does it matter.........still sends the same message.....one that even animals can understand.
So THIS is what it takes to get Vlad off his lazy commie butt and join the WOT? 4 lousy diplomats killed? The Moscow Opera House attack & the Beslan school attack were what- just hiccups? Hundreds dead, but no biggee! They were just civilians, after all.
Putin is a posturing dirtbag. He was too busy taking Saddam's money with both hands in 2003 to support us in Iraq. Now he wants to be a tough guy? Riiiiight....
Yes, I saw that one too. This thread is an update to yours--Thanks !
Has a nice ring doesn't it? Politically Correct girly men in Washington would faint at the thought....President Bush is NOT one of those, he is a Man.
Ahhh, minor details. Who care who the ruskies kill, so long as they are Iraqi terrorists?
Just recently I revisited the beheading videos from Iraq of various past hostages. These revolting awful clips are reminders of the vicious enemy the MSM and NY SLimes cozies up to. Can't blame Putin one bit but dont fully trust that sneaky ex KGB agent.
" Can you imagine the media orgasm that would occur if Bush used that language?"
"Media orgasm" is priceless ! The phrase cracked me up -:))))
Now, just imagine if Putin stopped aiding Iran and other psycho regimes and realized that undermining the United States in the long term is undermining Russian security too.
Using FSB thugs to hunt down Jihadist thugs (and other real thugs) instead of arresting human rights activists and scientists is the only proper use of FSB.
Again, I am probably aiming too far, but who knows ? -:)))

Even OJ can't find the "real killers".
I'm not too good in conspiracy theories. I obviously have no idea what Russian Diplomats were doing there. Maybe collecting intelligence, maybe something else ?
The bottom line is they were grizly murdered by Islamic thugs as were 2 US soldiers before them. All I want is to have these Islamist monsters being hunt down and dealt with appropriately, and I think using FSB for this is the appropriate use of FSB.
I understand their desire for a response, and making a noise could be helpful if only to call attention to the unacceptability of insurgents' and terrorists' actions. But how about providing solid help to the peacekeeping efforts? Not to mention the diplomatic efforts to bring about reform in the region.
The Russians don't screw around. They did exactly this when one of their agents got killed in Lebanon back in the 70s. That was the end of terrorists messing with them until these Iraqi bozos forgot the Russian rules--or never knew them.
I wish we played the same way--but we have to make nice and talk about 'bringing them to justice'

Well--I doubt that Putin will become partner with US on this one. However, if he at least could help in hunting the insurgents, that would be a big help.
Time will tell if there is a conspiracy or not. After all these years of Russia taking the insurgents/Saddam's side in this land of flowing oil, and now out of nowhere there appears an opening for their fire power seems out of the ordinary.
I do not take kindly to having a Saddam backing finger of accusation coming out of Russia for US making Iraq a dangerous place.
I remember the famous story attributed to former CIA head William Casey. Hezbollah kidnapped a couple of Russia diplomats in Beruit around 1982. The KGB snatched a couple of cousins of the (suspected) kidnappers, killed them and left their corpses with their penises sewed in their mouths. The Russian ('cusa me, Soviet) diplomats quickly materialized, unharmed.
Casey's comment: The KGB speaks Hezbollah's language.
The head of Russia's security services immediately pledged to see Putin's order carried out.
Did the UN approve this plan?
Will the axis of whiners start whining?
If they are smart they will do it clandestine and do not tell anyone. And it would not be a PR disaster, this will have beneficial impact.
Iraqi state exists, at least officially and has diplomatic ties in form of embassies.
I wonder if Putin wants to kiss their tummys first...
There are still foreign embassies in Baghdad. Should they be closed? Should Iraqi government have diplomatic status and recognition in the world?
What do the advocates of terrorists' rights have to say about this?
If Putin stops kissing young boys on the stomach and starts focusing on the War on Terror, it's a step in the right direction.
A "license to kill" was good enuf for 007.
Interesting view old Vlad has of Iraqi sovereignty. With no troops involved in ops in Iraq, close ties with the dude on trial, oil for scandal participation, and obstruction to our [and Iraqi] efforts at every turn; he's just going to send in a hit squad in country. Who does he think he is, the Czar? Or "great" Stalin?
"I do not take kindly to having a Saddam backing finger of accusation coming out of Russia for US making Iraq a dangerous place."
I surely understand that. Putin's support for Saddam and Iranian Fanatics is both stupid and dangerous, but at least if Putin at least can deliver a few Islamist heads, I won't mind -:))))
don't forget..Brasi was killed and sent "sleeping with the fishes"..
"If Putin stops kissing young boys on the stomach and starts focusing on the War on Terror, it's a step in the right direction."
I'm afraid to ask!
Danny - at this point what is one more PR disaster? When the Iraqi gangs can do what they did to two of our finest last week and CAIR nor any of the other arabIraqi organizations condemned it....when the NYT and the rest of our media is fighting against us.....when the left/demos are working hand in hand with the murdering savages.... at this moment, I just really don't care anymore about being PC or PR disasters
"I'm afraid to ask!"
Oh my!! I just saw the story. Nevermind.
I wasn't thinking of our PR. I just don't want the Russians to go blow up a neighborhood wedding and it really be a wedding.
