Gianna once testified before a U.S. House committee concerning an abortion-related bill. Pro-abort Rep. Patsy Schroeder walked out rather than listen to her testimony.

The baby-killing gang can't stand to see the proof that their "it's not really a human being" line is a dirty lie.

It's like the old saying: "It's easy to be pro-choice when you're not the one getting killed."

Great post. Thank you!

A heart wrenching story. This young woman today wouldn't have Cerebral Palsy if her mother had only chosen life.

Yet.. she is a wonderful living testimony. A miracle indeed! God had great works for her to do and she is doing them by showing the world what a terrible option abortion is.

An article from the Rocky Mountain News

The House began its final floor session on a contentious note Monday when Rep. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch, introduced guest Gianna Jensen. At his request, she had been been granted permission to sing the national anthem.

He told how the Nashville woman had been born two months prematurely and had cerebral palsy. Lawmakers were touched when he said that Jensen, 29, who wasn't expected to crawl, now can run marathons.

But then Harvey said that the reason Jensen was disabled was that her 17-year-old mother tried to have a late-term abortion. He said he wanted lawmakers to know that fact, because later in the day they were planning to vote on a resolution honoring Planned Parenthood.

Some lawmakers were livid.

"I came this close to standing up and saying something," said Rep. Mark Larson, R-Cortez. He and others said Harvey violated House rules and protocol.

"It was despicable," said House Majority Leader Alice Madden, D-Boulder. "Ted Harvey doesn't care about proper decorum or the rules. He just wants to push his narrow agenda."

Said Harvey: "That was not my intention."

The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod holds a triennial National Youth Gathering and Gianna is always there. I wish you could experience the atmosphere when she leads 35,000 youth in song. She is absolutely awe-inspiring. When she shares her testimony, you can hear a pin drop.

Gianna is an advocate for cerebral palsy

the speaker of the House explained that Gianna has cerebral palsy and is an activist to bring awareness to the disease. "Let us give her a hand not only for her performance today, but also for her advocacy work," he said.

I was, presumably, someone's unwanted pregnancy as I was adopted as an infant in 1957. It's easy enough to understand why I don't support Planned Parenthood. However, I find the manner in which this young lady was sneaked into the Colorado House on false pretenses to be dishonest and unChristian. This is exactly the kind of stunt that gives Christians a bad name.

------------------------

And it is by no means certain what causes CP

NINDS Cerebral Palsy Information Page

Cerebral palsy may be congenital or acquired after birth. Several of the causes of cerebral palsy that have been identified through research are preventable or treatable: head injury, jaundice, Rh incompatibility, and rubella (German measles).

Research suggests that cerebral palsy results from incorrect cell development early in pregnancy. For example, a group of researchers has recently observed that more than one-third of children with cerebral palsy also have missing enamel on certain teeth. Scientists are also examining other events-such as bleeding in the brain, seizures, and breathing and circulation problems-that threaten the brain of a newborn baby. Some investigators are conducting studies to learn whether certain drugs can help prevent neonatal stroke, and other investigators are examining the causes of low birth-weight. Other scientists are exploring how brain insults (like brain damage from a shortage of oxygen or blood flow, bleeding in the brain, and seizures) can cause the abnormal release of brain chemicals and trigger brain disease.

Flame away.

I just sent this article to the leader of my Pro-Life Ministry at Church.

Every Saturday morning, we group with another parish church to say the rosary in front of an abortion clinic in Miami.

(If anyone receives Florida Catholic, we are written up this issue).

Everyone should hear this woman's story.

I totally agree with you.

And I'll raise you one for the "flame away" category...

I'd wager that 99% or more of people who are pro-choice would in NO WAY condone an abortion at 7.5-months into a pregnancy.

Even pro-choice people realize that at 7.5-months, it is no longer a "fetus", it is a premature baby.

So before everyone paints all pro-choice people with the same brush, please recognize that not all of them are whacko baby killers.

(And to reduce the number of people who will ask me at what point a "fetus" becomes a "baby", I'll tell you my personal definition: The point at which the baby can survive outside the womb.)
