The after-action report fell to me this week so you don't get any fancy graphics or photos.
The weather was threatening heavy thunderstorms throughout our stay last Friday, but the Lord was merciful and kept the storms at bay. They approached us from the south and west, but they changed direction just enough each time they got near so as to not pour down on us.
In the early part of the evening, we were heckled rather passionately by several leftists driving by. They were a bit more agitated than usual and were a cause for concern. It's been a while since we've been assaulted out there, but we're always on guard.
As the night wore on, however, the passing cars were back to the usual horn honking and cheers for our troops and the heckling stopped.
As has become the norm since Code Pink lost their permit for the main gate and we took over, more and more soldiers are comfortable enough to venture out and spend some time speaking with us. The time we spend with our recuperating heroes is much more valuable than that expended dealing with the Code Pinkos.
The Pinkos are still down the block. They're starving for attention, though. It looked like they only had about eight America-haters last Friday. Most cars going by are filled by regulars who use Georgia Avenue on Friday nights and have long ago figured out that Code Pink sucks. The number of cars giving them horn honks is pathetically low. If they do get a honk, it is probably by someone who is taken by the sight of the one American flag that they hold. A false-flag operation, for sure.
We on the other hand, get deluged by a cacophony of horn honks every Friday night as folks from all walks of life express their enthusiastic support for the troops at Walter Reed.
Mr. Trooprally had made a sign honoring the two soldiers who were taken prisoner and slaughtered by al Qaeda in Iraq, Cpl. Tucker and Cpl. Menchaca. He ventured down to talk with some of the Pinkos about their horrific murder at the hands of terrorists. He told us it was a waste of time. Pinkos always seem to put the blame on the U.S. whenever terrorists attack.
That was one of the few blemishes on what turned out to be a very pleasant and successful night. The dinner buses returned before ten. We gave the soldiers and their families onboard a hearty welcome.
We'll be back at Walter Reed tomorrow night beginning at 6:30 p.m. You can find us at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW. We may have a few early 4th of July surprises.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for demonstrating will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Nice work, Kristinn. Good seeing you & Raoul the other evening.
Thank you!
It was a pleasant surprise, indeed. Good to see you and yours.
If it wasn't buried in your queue, I pinged you to an old Larry Bailey article. He's back on the scene, this time taking on John Murtha.
Thank You DC FReepers for showing up week after week
and standing up for our troops.
I enjoy seeing the pics of FReepers in action against the Code Pink traitors.
Thanks to you and all the others for the job you're doing for our brave Troops.
I saw that in The Washington Times. Glad he's back in the fight.
Much obliged, Tonk. Thank you.
Thank you. It has made a great difference in morale at Walter Reed for the troops and their families to see their fellow Americans showing support for them.

Two sergeants -- who had just arrived at Walter Reed that very day from Iraq -- were delighted to see us at the gates, celebrating the troops. Joseph (left) from Pennsylvania and Bobby (right) from New Jersey are drill instructors who had been training Iraqi troops when injured. Joseph has already earned three Purple Hearts. (FReeper Sensei Ern is in the black shirt.)
The two troops were headed out for "some American food" at Red Lobster (as opposed to MREs -- Meals, Ready to Eat). We were concerned about their walking four blocks due to the threat of rain, but they were exultant that "it isn't 114 degrees in the shade out here."
Here are the 5 new people that should up. They said they can't make it this week but will be with us July 7.

Code Pink's Ballet Man, festooned in Barbie colors, decided to dance the Tarantella this week.

Code Pink's "Emily Latella" (left) has had her hair tamed and her roots touched up since we saw her last, but Eric Anderson, alias Squeegee Guy, has taken over Code Pink's armpit flasher detail. Emily Latella's dad, Bruce Wolf (rear), alias Blue Pony Tail Guy, still hasn't resumed posting his self-serving, delusionary Walter Reed "vigil" writeups -- ever since we threw Code Pink off the gates months ago.
And Generalissimo Franco is still dead.
Great photo of some American heroes! Thanks

Is this why they're having that hunger strike? lol
If you have ever FReeped with us,
thought about FReeping with us,
or intended to FReep with us but haven't yet,

Can't make the 30th--but I sure hope to be there on the 7th---I've got my airline tickets--and can't wait to see all of you again!

Concerning going down to Code Pink, I just wanted to question them about why the press and the antiwar leftist didn't say anything about Cpl. Tucker and Cpl. Menchaca being tortured and mutilated by the terrorists. The two soldiers were after all in uniform and clearly deserved POW status. They were treated much worst than the terrorists at Gitmo.
Their answer, the military leaders who left them out there by themselves were responsible. And they have no control over what the MSM reports.
So f###ing lame. It only irritated me more than I was before I went down there.
Not being as astute in confronting the leftist as you and some other FReepers are, our arguments went around in circles. I couldn't break the circle.
Lesson learned and told to me previously, 'it's not worth arguing with the extreme leftists'. But I had to go down to the pinkos area for my own peace of mind and let them know that they aren't fooling every American. If only they cared.

This is a website where you can leave a message for Pfc. Thomas Tucker's family. I'm not aware of one set up for Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, or I would post that too.

There are always idiots abounding. BTW we hope to be back soon.
Most of the time I love it though, but I would love to be there sometime.
Fantastic job! Thanks once again.
thanks for adding color to the report!
Awww, jeez. I just have to go to one of these things. I wonder if I can finance a plane ticket? :-)
Great pic of some heros up thread.
Good job guys!
THANK YOU to the American troops for protecting our FREEDOM!!!!!
I know how you feel. The DC Freepers are BEYOND awesome! You don't have to buy a plane ticket, though. You can do your part in your own community. That's the "grassroots" thing. It S-P-R-E-A-D-S.
I live in Puget Sound. We have Army, Navy, and Airforce bases right here. We also have Sheehan loving, communist worshipping, terrorist appeasing, troop demoralizing, America hating, unbathed, ill-mannered, hot tempered, koolaid drinking MORONS all around us. They don't practice what they preach, either. Non-violent, my A$$!
Day before yesterday, on a bridge which leads directly to one of the gates of Ft. Lewis (over which our WONDERFUL troops drive many times a day), some members of our O.S.O.T. group (OSOT.org - check it out) were harrassed AND assaulted. An older vet was knocked down on the overpass, and almost lost a very large American flag to the passing traffic below. He managed to keep the flag from falling onto the interstate, but just barely. Charges have been filed against the "peaceful protestors" who were none too happy after the police arrived. One of them then pushed a woman into a parked truck. I'll attach a couple pictures I took at the rally on the same bridge 2 days before they got violent. Call it a "vanity plug" or whatever you want. Just know that these ill-informed, misguided folks who claim to be true Americans are EVERYWHERE. The DC freepers have their situation very well under control. And yes, like you, I want to go hang out with them at Walter Reed. DC Freepers ROCK! (before they ROLL over the opposition)

This last one is a wonderful lady and co-founder of O.S.O.T, standing with some guy with a really cool airplane!
I just want to hug and thank these men! I am so grateful to all of you who are out there at Walter Reed supporting them!
great pictures, Lori.
Happy Freeper Avinersary, Landry! (ok, so I'm 19 days late)
Tonk, Seadog bytes, was it you who had some bumper stickers done up for the election?
I LOVE this sign and a bumper sticker saying THIS would have huge appeal
I might change the order of the words, tho..
HEAL. HELP. HIRE.
US VETS
They could be available for a dollar donation to
An interesting idea! Guess it depends on the weather...
19 days isn't bad. :)
Many thanks, Coop, but the credit is due to Mrs. Trooprally and her excellent eye.
Fantastic Puget Sound FReepin'! Nice going!
Just pointing out that the "Heal, Help, Hire" sign is one of the many so-called troop support signs being held by Code Pink. They act like they support the troops, but they simultaneously sponsor Saddam-loving speakers at colleges and universites, participate in every anti-Bush rally around the country, and we can never forget their "gift" of $600,000 to the "townspeople" of Fallujah when they heard that our soldiers were going to raid the town. Their sedition probably put many of those troops into Walter Reed in the first place (how many bombs will $600,000 buy in Iraq?), so we are just not "buying" their treacly troop-support ruses in front of the hospital. They are lying scum.
(drumroll)
"FREEDOM BRIDGE".
We've had some BIG rallies on that one. It started out as a Mom & Pop thing to support their loved one who was in the first group from Ft. Lewis to go out to the sandbox. Just them and a few friends. It turned into this:

I have more....just can't find 'em.
Especially the pinko 'concern' about PTSD. A while back one WR patient said to me, "How is it helping my stress level when they protest me and my brother soldiers at our hospital?"
Then he said that he wished they weren't at the front gates.
Do you think he knows ConcreteBob?
Drive by bump...
