BAGHDAD, June 29 (KUNA) -- The US-led multinational forces in Iraq have observed a remarkable decline in its losses and that 74 percent of terrorist attacks have its focus on innocent civilians, said on Thursday the spokesman of the forces, Maj.Gen. Willian B. Caldwell IV. Addressing a news conference, Caldwell said at least 60 to 70 foreign terrorists are killed in Iraq every month. He noted that 57 foreign fighters were killed at the hands of American and Iraqi forces since early June.

At least 587 terrorist suspects have been detained in the week ending June 28, the spokesman said, expressing believe that most of the foreign fighters who are taking part in armed operations in Iraq were of Egyptian nationality. "Most of the foreign fighters taking part in attacks in Iraq are Egyptians, followed by Syrians, Sudanese and Saudis", he said.

Number of Coalition, Iraqi civilian, and Iraqi security force casualties have all decreased compared to the previous month.

The MSM conflates all casualties into one to make it sound as bad as possible. e.g., "27 ppl killed...." when those 27 might have been insurgents, civilians, soldiers. They just try to keep the chaotic image going. Aiding the terrorists, basically.

The rate of KIA is decreasing. The number, of course, continues to increase. Since the war began, it has become a standard defeatist trope to bemoan the fact that the number of KIA continues to increase as if in previous wars there were periods where our KIA came back to life. Just one of about a million things I dislike about leftists.

The DOD public affair types are begining to make the same mistake we came to regret in SEA, body counts. The number of dead in any configuration, of any character (military, civilian or dressed as civilians) is a completely meaningless figure. It's a dumb road to go down because it is intended to convey a message of ever-increasing success; a message that cannot mean what it implies.

You noticed that too. Good work. As if there ever was a war, however successful or brilliantly led, that didn't have a "mounting death toll."

Just more batguano from the leftwing bestials in the media.

So, less attacks and therefore lesso casualties inflicted on coalition troops, and more attacks on civilians, with a higher casualty rate.

Of course. The terrorists found out the hard way that coalition forces shoot back, and civilians do not. Using extreme violence against the unarmed seems to be part of that peaceful islamic Utopia that the world so desperately needs (sarc).

According to our paper (this morning) oil shipments are up in the North and South -- said since Zarqawi was killed the terrorists must not be getting the message to blow the pipelines... that they have hope the people of Iraq will see how much money they have coming in from oil and how that money benefits them all and will rally to keeping it flowing.
