The following piece is a Freeper Exclusive.

Contact has been made with the family of one of the accused MArines involved with the murder claims in Iraq of recent.

Freeper "Flightline" served with me off Iran with HMM-165 in 1980 and is actively involved with veteran's issues in the Cape

Cod Massachusetts area.

Flightline sought out the family of the local Marine who is accused to see if the family needed any assistance in seeing

their son and to see just what efforts have been made to keep them informed.

It was discovered that the family was never notified by the Marine Corps, The Red Cross, or Navy Relief of their son's

incarceration at the brig in Camp Pendleton. It was only through the release of a press statement that appeared in a local

newspaper that they learned their son was one of the accused.

Flightline spoke to the family directly last night and reported to me the following updates:

1. Recent statements released to the press concerning their being held in shackles and in solitary confinement is WRONG. The

men are being held in separate cells with the open slots for food and conversation in the cell doors being allowed with no

restrictions concerning cross talk and communication between the Marines being held and anyone in the hallway outside their

cells.

The men are judged on an honor system as any other inmates, with points earned for good behaviour. As they accumulate points,

they will be released into a sqauadbay environment within the brig system. It is unusual for the open communication to be

allowed, but these men are allowed to experience it.

2. The previous information concerning the treatment of the men was incorrect. The men have the best food allowed in the brig

system and have all normal brig exercise time and normal phone calls allowed. The Chaplain has been visiting on a regular

basis and reports that the men, while disheartened at their being exploited for political gain, are high in spirits DUE TO

THEIR BELIEF IN THEIR INNOCENCE OF THE CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST THEM.

3. The Marine Corps attempted to expedite the Court Martial against them men, but one of the representing attornies refused

and trial will begin in approximately 4 months.

4. The father of one of the accused Marines reported that he is being kept in the dark about the conditions of his son with

no contact from anyone from the Camp Pendleton base Brig system or the Command leadership concerning the welfare of his son

and the others accused. FLIGHTLINE made some phone calls and found a surprisingly cooperative effort to get the truth out.

The exact reason the family was not informed of events as they unfolded was not known, but that is going to be remedied ASAP.

5. Contact was made with the local Federal and State representatives: JOHN KERRY, TED KENNEDY and Delahunt. The responses

were appalling. Senator Ted Kennedy's response stated that he cannot get involved with seeing the families best interests

regarding their son due to a CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Sen John Kerry refused to reply to the family either through the phone or

mail system. Rep. Delahunt did not honor the family with any personal contact but instead had his son reply; and asked if

they can assist with a new lawyer but offered no other assistance such as checking on the welfare of their son or seeing his

civil rights were being defended; such as being innocent until proven guilty. It became obvious that since each of the 3

persons contacted were Democrats, they were not going to help the accused.

Efforts have been made to contact Lt Pantano for advice and help on this situation, but as of yet no response has been

received. I believe this Marine will soon chip in.

A WARRIOR DEFENSE FUND has been set up in California, a 501-C3 organization, and is getting involved with cases such as this

one with the 7 Marines and Sailor accused.

Rep. Delahunt is up for re-election and is being opposed by John Beatty, a former FBI counter-terrorism, CIA

counter-terrorism operative, and former Special Ops in the military.

Is anyone surprised that Massachusette's Senators Kerry and Kennedy, cannot be TROUBLED. Human lives are such an insignificant item on their agendas. Stone Cold Kerry can get, no power to increase his portfolio, if he stoops so low, as to help another. Besides, Teddy would be a bit displeased...

Why anyone......ANYone..........who either is in the military, or has served in the military, or has a loved one in the military, or in the slightest supports the military......would EVER vote for a puke Democrat is simply beyond me.

What a despicable excuse for "representatives". They're beneath contempt.

Unbelievable! But the Dem Party thinks it's just fine for Murtha to go on national TV and call Marines guilty of cold blooded murder.
