There is NO way that there's more Canadians working in the US than Mexicans -
no freaking way.

LOL!
I remember hearing on some PBS special this nice factoid:
There are more Mexican citizens in the USA...than there are Canadians
in Canada.

And some folks are still in denial about the USA being INVADED!!!

What #34 said.
Its called p-a-n-d-e-r-i-n-g and p-i-m-p-i-n-g for votes, nothing more.

And if you seriously think the fascists in LaRaza are going to vote for any Republicans - up your Thorazine and Lithium meds, you're delirious.

That goes for the so-called genius Karl Rove too - in spades.

(no offense meant to people who actually NEED anti psychotic meds)

We are talking about legal and illegal workers.

You are absolutely right - our young people MUST be able to divert their SS money into private accounts. Politicians don't want this to ever happen because it takes money out of their coffers (so to speak)and gives them no SS issues to scare old people with. My father died about 4 weeks before my sister but he was 81 and had been getting his SS for 20 years so he at least saw some of his contributions - but my sisters contributions going to illegals just sets me off.

Foreign workers can qualify with as few as 6 quarters of work, rather than 40 quarters (benefits would be prorated to reflect only credits earned in the United States); and

How about you learn to read (I posted a source after that), or even......*gasp* do your own research?

Macain turned to the dark side and brought Lindsey Graham with him.
Specter was always lord of the dark side...

and now Brownback.

As soon as we give them the majority, some of these GOP senators turn to the dark side.

Also, I read somewhere else that the Mexicans don't have to work as many quarters to draw the same benefits as a citizen. They always give them an advantage don't they?
This is from the link you posted in post #55, the middle of the page:
While the text of the agreement with Mexico has not yet been made publicly available, it is likely to be virtually identical to the 20 other agreements.
This would mean that we would have to be giving the same "advantage" [working fewer quarters] to Germans, Koreans, Swiss, etc., wouldn't it? Well, are they receiving that advantage? I doubt it because it doesn't make sense (although I could be wrong because this is the government we're talking about).

Regarding the woman who died, what part of insurance don't you understand? Are you also trying to get a refund on the money she paid for car insurance now that she is no longer driving?

If the policy is cancelled during the paid term, the unused portion of the policy would be refunded.

is merely a blip in a shadowy yet vibrant underground market....undetected by American authorities, operating below the radar in immigrant communities from coast to coast,

It's only "under the radar" for Fedgov, because they just don't care about this type of fraud, because it furthers the globalist agenda. Now, if I  were to misreport my earnings, or miss filing a 1099 form, they jump on me immediately. The fact that they aren't pursuing these criminals is a clear indication that they don't give a damn about illegal aliens. Laws are for us, not for them.

"There's also no way in HELL that some 30 million Mexicans making minimum wage and below, could ever, ever, ever pay that much INTO the system."

30,000,000 mexicans x $4/hr x 2080 hr./yr x 15 years

= $3,744,000,000,000 Gross income

x 12% SS contributions = $449,280,000,000

Even over the first 5 years, it would still be over $100 billion. Of course this is all fiction, since there are nowhere near 30 million illegal alien workers in this country.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Madam, but that money was spent by your elected representatives the nanosecond that it was received by the IRS.

There is not now, nor has there ever been, a fund in any true sense of the word. Just a line item in the National Debt.

Little known fact. Our government has tolerated illegal workers because the government has for years confiscated their pay through social security and income tax withholding. They may be working here illegally but Uncle Sam has been taking his share of the kitty knowing that the illegal will never claim his benefits.

They could also potentially return to Mexico and claim credits for illegal work in the U.S., or claim payments through other as yet undisclosed methods.

"Government Speak" for GIVEAWAY!!!

The problem of multiple illegals using the same SSN has been around forever!

40 years ago I worked for the Social Security Administration and, whenever ther was "spare" time to do so, we had computer runs of employers in our district who had reported earnings on multiple individuals using the same SSN. Believe me, there is no way to really straighten out such messes after the fact (there is a substantial lag time between the faulty reporting and when the Social Security Administration finds out)!

Usually, the first person to file a claim on the number got the benefits and later individuals got squat! Now, I presume, EVERYBODY claiming work on a bogus number will receive benefits! Your welfare state at work!!!

"We are outraged that our government won't tell us how much they plan to take out of the Social Security Trust Fund to pay for the Totalization Agreement with Mexico, and we want to know what they're hiding," said Ralph McCutchen, Chairman of the TREA Senior Citizens League.

The SSTF has no assets, just IOUs in the form of non-marketable T-bills, i.e., only the USG can redeem them. All this does is add to the overall liability of the SS system, which is pay as you go. The SSTF is included in the national debt as intragovernmental holdings.

As for your theory that Mexicans will raise their children in Mexico, ship them off here when they're adults, and then when they're old and sick, they'll dutifully go "home," it flies in the face of reality. Don't you know that our public schools are flooded with the children of illegals? If "we" want Mexico to raise its children, why are millions of them here illegally, draining our tax dollars?

I'm no economist, but I see a couple of problems with your statistical analysis. First, for every illegal worker, there are many more not in the work force, either at home or children. And our jails are full of illegals, and something like 26% of our federal prison population consists of illegal aliens. It would be more accurate to say we may have 30 million illegal aliens and their children here, but of that, only about 4-5 million are actually working legitimate jobs (drug-dealing doesn't count). Also, the illegals wouldn't pay in 12% to SS. Their employers would pay half of it.

We also need to subtract the money they cost us. Healthcare, taxpayer-funded "free" education, crime (everything from drunk-driving to machete-wielding gangs), social services, and on and on.

I think we will get to vote on it. Plan A will be reduce entitlements for the elderly. Anyone who wants to stay in the USA will pay dearly for it. Anyone who can't afford it, dies or gets shipped out. Plan B will be declaration of Bankruptcy for the USA. Which plan will you vote for.

my sister started working at around age 15. She took an early retirement from GM after working there 32 years. She died 3 weeks ago at the age of 60 - two years shy of receiving SS benefits. All this money that she contributed for all those years does not go to her family - the government gets it all

Social Security as designed by FDR is supposed to work this way. It's a pyramid scheme where the majority of contributors were expected to die before the payout age. The reason Social Security is "broke" today is because the median lifespan has increased far beyond the payout age.

The pyramid is now upside down with more payees than payors and will collapse.

Social Security has been a tax payer rip off since the day it was instituted. I'm sorry you are just now realizing it.

If Rove had not aggressively gone after the Hispanic vote in 2004, John Kerry would be president. But for pathetic race pimps like yourself, who are no different than the Jesse Jackson's of the world, i.e. more interested in having an issue to perpetually be angry over and whine about, you would probably be happy, as long as none of those Hispanic's were in "the tent". "We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is
like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the
handle
." ~Winston Churchill

SOCIAL SECURITY:

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA)
Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400
of their annual incomes into the Program,

3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program
would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,

4.) That the money the participants put into the independent "Trust
Fund" rather than into the General operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no
other Government program, and,

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as
income.  Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now
receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that
we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal
government to "put away," you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent
"Trust" fund and put it into the General fund so that Congress could
spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically-controlled House and
Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social
Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the "tie-breaking"
deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President
of the U.S.

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to illegal
immigrants?
MY FAVORITE:

A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive
Social Security payments!  The Democratic Party gave these payments to
them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after doing all this lying and thieving and violation of the
original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that
the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!  And the worst
part about it is, uninformed citizens believe it!

However, in  light of S-2611, and the Bill's inclusion of illegal aliens into our Social
Security System, are the Republicans really serious about ever fixing it?

Yes SS can be fixed. First by moving it back to where it was when started...in a lock
box, forever away from greedy political paws.   Next, have it administrated by a public
foundation with tamper proof cards, and not by our government that screwed it up.
