All this money that she contributed for all those years does not go to her family - the government gets it all

I'm very sorry to hear about your sister. You and the rest of your family have my sympathies. The issue with SS is an old one and is exactly what Bush was trying to resolve by getting people to own at least 2% of their SS. Unfortunately, most Americans are too dumb to understand that by privatizing as much as 2% of their SS, they would own it and, if they died before their benefit expired, their heirs would get the remainder. Hopefully, all of this will, one day, force a paradigm change in the way that SS is handled.

Seems like Dubya left out one great selling-point for that plan...
"...and by the way, I'm letting MILLIONS of illegal citizens in on
the Social Security gravy train, so y'all should take advantage of at
least claiming a bit for yourself!".

And it would have been nice if he'd made his Amnesty plan for
millions of identity theives public as well.

You are absolutely right - our young people MUST be able to divert their SS money into private accounts. Politicians don't want this to ever happen because it takes money out of their coffers (so to speak)and gives them no SS issues to scare old people with. My father died about 4 weeks before my sister but he was 81 and had been getting his SS for 20 years so he at least saw some of his contributions - but my sisters contributions going to illegals just sets me off.
