Have they paid into social security? If so, they are still losing money like all the rest of us. True. But think of how much more money we can get/steal if we require them to pay in and never collect.
But I think you are missing the main point in this. That is we want to have mexico raise kids. Then when they are adults, they work here. Then they go home to mexico to retire. That is the plan. That is high efficiency economics. What we need to do is ship some of our poor elderly and retired over there or to thailand or somewhere where it is a lot cheaper to care for them. This may be the eventual bail out for the ssi system.

It had never crossed my mind to look at it like that - thanks for the post.

As for your theory that Mexicans will raise their children in Mexico, ship them off here when they're adults, and then when they're old and sick, they'll dutifully go "home," it flies in the face of reality. Don't you know that our public schools are flooded with the children of illegals? If "we" want Mexico to raise its children, why are millions of them here illegally, draining our tax dollars?

You should either label that as satire or never post it or say anything like that again. If you meant it youre a grade A kook.

First of all (to paraphrase talk show host Quinn 104.7) 'Government (liberalism) generates that exact opposite of its stated intent'. In other words: things don't always go according to "the plan".
To believe that a millions of people are going to leave a great free country (after living here for years)....are going to leave the best country in the world to retire to Mexico is a crock....and of course you have to believe that Mexico will actually let them back in .....and to believe that AMERICANS are going to do that OR should do that is a joke. You are asking, no 'shipping' men and women that have fought for this country and lived their entire lives here to a strange land at a time (their golden years) when they need family and country most. You are expecting Americans to live away from their families in a place that is inferior, where they don't speak the language, or know the culture etc....and the natural course would be that they would die on foreign soil, Americans dying in a foreign land, all so we can save a buck (which wouldn't happen...they would still get their entitled benefits) . Despicable. No thanks.
Oh yeah and Happy 4th of July to you.
