Bible followers mess up U.S. (Why Joe Lieberman is in trouble)

Karl Weiss: Bible followers mess up U.S. A letter to the editor

Dear Editor:

Everything Sen. Joe Lieberman says or does is for Israel. The man is a Zionist. Jews and evangelicals like Bush just love this person and it ALL goes back to that make-believe book called the Bible.

Our government has been taken over by people who believe in fairy tales and mankind has been set back hundreds of years because of this. Stem cell research, birth control and cancer cures have all been stopped by these idiots. Ignorance rules in these United States.

Pray he does it on THIS side of the grass.

It's news in that this represents the mindset of the crazed loons that worship Howard Dean and post at DU and Daily Kos - the same crazed loons that are going all-out to seize control of the democrat Party. And appear to be succeeding.

I believe it's Pardeeville, Wisconsin. I never heard of such a town in Connecticut, so I looked it up, and that's all I could find.

Sounds like like the voice of Madison to me, however.

I think there are even some atheists that would argue that stem cells from fetuses and birth control not morally correct.

I'd rather beleive in Biblical "fairy tales" than liberal dogma. At least I know there's a higher and stronger Power than the god liberals worship, i.e. Big Government.

He's factually wrong: birth control nas not been stopped, but is available; cancer cures have not been stopped, for there are none of them as yet to be stopped - the search continues; stem cell research is impeded, true - he got 0.333 average.

Give him half a point anyway. The sum total of NIH grants is huge, hard to match in private sector. And privately funded R&D is mostly D, very little R.

Actually, given the fact that adult stem cell procedures have a splendid track record of providing cures, while the high-tech cannibalism of using cells from dismembered embryos tends to produce cancer, pushing federal dollars into the former, rather than the latter hardly seems like an impediement to research.

Karl Weiss: Does feds' intrusion void phone pacts?

A letter to the editor

Dear Editor: There must be someone out there who can answer this question for me. Does the data mining by the National Security Agency involving our phone calls make my contract with Verizon null and void?

I think that the time has come for the people of this nation to punish these mega companies for selling our information to the fascists in the Bush administration.

Not true. Government funding of stem cell research has been impeded. I know of no laws which serve as an impediment to privately funded stem cell research.

I think the bigot struck out, after all.

Dear Editor:

P.S. Robots are stealing my luggage while Black Helicopters fly about, guiding CIA drones into the World Trade Center. Bigfoot just stole the baby back ribs off my BBQ grill. Herr Hitler clued us in on the World Zionist Conspiracy and they killed him for it. The Fuhrer never said this "baby". The Fuhrer was kind. I would write more but the Zionist cat is taking notes and sending them to Ariel Sharon.

There are some of us who are conservative but don't buy into creationism. I find the Big Bang theory a much more likely scenario than some omnificent being who created the earth, sun, heavens, etc by waving a wand or twitching his nose or whatever.

Taking a fairly pragmatic approach to this, I would say I have everything to gain and nothing to lose for my beliefs in God and Creationism. Mr. Karl Weiss has nothing to gain and EVERYTHING to lose for his beliefs. I like my approach better.

And in addition to that, I get the side benefits of Peace, Hope, Love and Joy while I am here on Earth. Not Fear, NO HOPE, Hate and Bitterness. Again, I like my approach better.

I do pray that this man will wake up before it's too late.
