What? July 4th had not "a" special place - it has "the" special place in USA history. Last time I looked, LA was still part of the USA. Regretably perhaps but none the less... Were you alive at the time the DoI was signed? Let me answer for you, NO. Me neither. But the celebration is as much for me as any who have gone before or will come after, no matter where they live in the very special country.
