Incumbent Jim Talent holds a slight advantage in the Show Me State, according to the latest poll by Zogby Interactive. 49 per cent of respondents in Missouri would vote for the Republican in the election to the U.S. Senate, while 44 per cent would support Democrat Claire McCaskill.

Not surprising. Just about the opposite of the Left Winag St Louis Post Dispatch poll.

LOL. The Post-Dispatch will be so disappointed. They can't believe that fake polls do not translate into real voters.

I don't believe this. It's completely at odds with what I've been hearing in the drive-by media. Everybody knows that the GOP is in for the pasting of the century this coming November, because of mean bad George W. Bush, who lied us into war. Don't cha know.

Finally, a little good news in a race that looks VERY iffy. However, some people have questionsed the methods of this particular polling firm (Zogby International).

You should bookmark this thread for posterity, because it'll be the most respect that the Zogby Interactive crap polls ever get on FR. LOL

Since it's Zogby, the percentage is probably higher than that for Talant. Very liberal leaning poll.

Zogby poll = not worth the electrons needed to show it on the screen. Between this and the equally worthless Drive By Media polls showing the Dim cruising to easy victory, all I can say is, who knows what's really going on in Missouri?

The Zogby Interactive polls are internet polls of those who have signed up with Zogby. I've been taking part since he first started doing them, BTW. Since the respondents are self-selected, Zogby applies a screen to guess what the election day voting population will look like (what percent will be Democrats or Republicans, white or black, etc). Basically, Zogby Interactive is nothing more than Zogby's guesstimate of who will be voting on election day.

You do realize that this is only because the Republicans have "disinfranchised" the illegals, dead people and pets from voting, since they passed a law saying that you must have photo id to vote.

1) Talent will win, but

Zogby interactive is as reliable as the "Globe." Talent will win in spite of Zogby's prediction.

Don't write off St Louis... They'll keep polling places open late, and they've got droves of illegal aliens, criminals and dead people who can't wait to vote for Claire. Wasn't it during the 2000 presidential elections that it came out there were more votes counted than registered voters in St Louis county?

Of course, nothing ever came of it.

For an incumbent? Not really. But I still think Talent will win in November.

Not when it comes to Zogby. Zogby is not to be trusted even if the results look good for our side, and based on the comments it most everyone agrees.

This is not a poll, it's an Internet survey among self-selected participants. I think it's pretty much worthless.

That being said, I don't believe those polls showing McCaskill up by 5%.

Well, we didn't elect her to be Governor in 2004, Why would anybody looking at her for US Senate think she was more qualified for that office? It boggles the mind how the left can trot out a recycled candidate, present her to a constituency, and say vote for her now because she lost last time. What other message could there be to anybody who is in touch with reality? She
Were I a Democrat in Missouri, I think I'd radically react against my party's lack of vision in recycling McCaskill for this election. It PROVES they have nobody else.

Don't forget that this state recently elected a dead man to this office because the soccer moms felt sorry for his widow.
