Sorry if this has already been posted. So what's going on here? Is Lil' Kim throwing a temper tantrum about Iran getting all the attention? Is this a ruse for something else? Has he finally, truly flipped out and decided he likes playing with bright, flashing buttons?

So he's having a temper tantrum...who cares?

He's not accomplishing squat and frankly I don't know what all the alarm is about.

Sounds like Kimmy is itching to draw us into a battle. Problem is, if he succeeds, he won't like the outcome and will be joining So Damn Insane in a one meal hunger strike.

Like anyone really cares.

"So what's going on here?"

I think he shot off the scuds because he was afraid we'd try to shoot down the ICBM, and he wanted some decoys to run interference. I betchya he's hopping mad today, since the ICBM failed anyway.

More at CQ;

I'm still watching CNN, and their expert on North Korea, Han Park, tells them via phone from Seoul that the North Korean missiles posed no threat to the United States and we shouldn't react at all. He also says that North Korea wanted to show their expertise at weapons production in order to sell their wares abroad -- and figures that the results reflect positively on Pyongyang.

In other words, Park wants us to believe that North Korea actually impressed people by staging a demonstration of missiles that can't fly even for one full minute. Riiiiiiiiiiight.

UPDATE II: CNN now reports that six missiles got fired today, including another Taepodong-2. No word yet on the success or failure of the second TD-2.

Updates
NORAD has been "placed on 'Bravo-Plus' status, slightly higher than a medium threat level,"

Discussion on anti-missile technology, at the Belmont Club.

"Maybe the Chicoms put them up to multiple launches so as to get a read on our defenses. And maybe some Nork rocket scientists are against a wall tonight."

Maybe.

You don't know what all the alarm is about.....

The missles are going WHERE they want them to...which means the North Koreans have also benefited from the missle guidance technology that CLINTON allowed the Chinese to have for campaign contributions.

Secondly, we are talking about a mad man who claims to be a god, starves his people so he can build nuclear weapons, and regulary states that he would use them on US...

The question is WHY YOU are NOT alarmed.

They are finding their range. Take them out before they really can threaten a US city. NK with nukes and missiles is unacceptable.

What are they doing? The tests needed to perfect their system. That's all they care about. Only a real threat will stop them.

It's all a question of relevance and ego. Kim Chong Il must do something provocative to maintain his membership in the Axis of Evil. He hasn't been in the news much recently and that must really injure the pride of The Greatest Man on Earth and The Guiding Light of the DPRK film industry.
Pulgasauri 2 is about to be released, and Kim knows the value of promotion. (sarcasm)
Besides, his son and heir apparent is into rock and roll and could even be a Deadhead. The Dear Leader knows if he doesn't make the Big Play during his lifetime, it may never come and the Kim family plantation will pass into the dungheap of history with the other Peoples' Republics.

We should, but won't because of Foggy Bottom, make fun of thes e failed attempts at missile technology. Like at a WH Press Briefing:

Reporter: What is the WH's opinion of these missile launces?

Tony Snow: Missile launches? IZZAT what they were? We thought the NK government was helping us celebrate the 4th of July with some Roman Candles!............

According to the Russians (via Drudge) 10 missles were launched. I hope this is incorrect. I would hate to think that we were only able to track 2/3 of the North Korean's launches.

The question is WHY YOU are NOT alarmed.

Kim is too vain to be suicidal.

He's not accomplishing squat and frankly I don't know what all the alarm is about.

It's actually pretty embarassing for him. The main event was the TPD3, which was a spectacular failure.

To cover the loss of face, the additional missile firings are for no other reason than to demonstrate that North Korea is still dangerous. It's not like a SCUD or No Dong really requires 'testing' anymore, they work fine and are in mass production. It's the ICBM technology that needed to be proven, and that was shown as a massive anticlimax. Rather than strike fear, Kim made a fool of himself with his low grade knockoff weapon, and now he's launching other weapons to compensate for it.

I'm sure we are able to track missiles just fine. We being the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. I'd have significantly less faith in the Russians. Call me crazy.

As far as what we release to the press and when, well, let's just say we're a lot better at tracking missiles than PR.

Wise men should not trust their existence to an assessment of vanity in mad man.

Saddam is vain. Hitler was vain. Stalin was vain. But none of them, in addition to being vain, claimed deity.

Why am I not alarmed?

1. The U.S. military has it all under control.

2. My GOD has it in his hands and he has told me never to waste time worrying about it.

Jesus said God causes the rain to fall on the rigtheous as well as the wicked.

I'll pray that North Korean nuclear missles don't fall on your righteous head....so don't worry about it.

It is silly to suggest that being concerned about a mad man with missles is a lack of faith.

Don't get vacines, don't stop smoking, don't have a military....after all....well you know.

My 30 year mortgage and my pending divorce after 20 years of marriage scare me way more than the little Korean.

That said, I do take it seriously because I have been in the Army for 28 years.

I just try prioritize my worries wisely.
