Sherriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona is now playing National Anthem and God Bless America played for the entire jail facitily.

The inmates are also wearing pink underwear to prevent theft, but eating high on the hog with a balogna brunh and hot meal in the evening. All meals cost the inmates 14 cents a piece.

I wish he was running Harris County Texas.....

I understand it's unconfirmed but I have read that Arpaio provides cable TV for inmates but they get to watch only The Disney Channel and The Weather Channel. LOL!

Their underwear (white) used to get washed with other things - socks, sheets, towels, ...... Throwing a batch of red dye with every load rendered the sheets, towels and other high-value items undesirable from the thieving standpoint. Also, this Sheriff limits air conditioning. When their representatives (presumably the ACLU) complained, he informed them that if our boys in Iraq are carrying 180 lbs. a piece in sweltering 110 degree heat having committed no crime, then they could sweat it out in 80 degree weather around in their underwear. Now, a liberal might say that there's an element of humiliation in the mix, but there are none of those here.

I would rather listed to Kate Smith singing "God Bless America" than anyone. She sings it the way it was meant. AAMOF I'd like to hear her version of any of our national songs than any of those self-promoting ?singers? that we hear now, jumping all over the scale and improvising a piece to their own like.

Years ago after suffering an on the job car accident, I had to go on lite duty for 6 months before returning to my normal patrol job.

I was assigned to work a public walk-up window in dispatch. Citizens walked into a small lobby that had a water fountain, drink machine and bathrooms. At least a few times a week we would see people go into the bathroom just to return with bulges under their clothes.

They would steal rolls of paper and toilet paper, those plastic bags with liquid soap, one guy broke a dryer off the wall and attempted to take that. At least once a month someone would try to break into the soda machine to get either a drink or the money inside.

People will steal anything if given the opportunity.
