Desiree Fairooz, of CodePink, a woman-initiated grassroots organization, traveled from Arlington to participate. After reading from a prepared statement, Fairooz lambasted the war, the president and government leaders who she said were in Iraq with the sole intent to steal oil, build an embassy and make the country "America's 52nd state."

I am a reporter in Killeen, TX. My husband is stationed at Fort Hood and preparing for his second deployment to Iraq. Yesterday morning I was called to cover a codepink protest outside the gate at Hood.
Enjoy.

I heard this was a "progressive fast", or some such nonsense. It means they'll take turns fasting. I think Cindy's fast shifting is from 10 pm to 7 am.
Pathetic pinkos, LOLOLOL! Thanks for the article. Give your hubby a big hug from me & my family. Tell him he has our love, honor, support and prayers.

Add this with the video posted on another thread that shows Code Pink being outclassed by high schoolers on a field trip in D.C> and I would call this a very good day.

This must have been a huge flop. I didn't get an update from my son over the whole thing. My guess is that they never knew code pink was there.

Thank You for bringing this story to Free Republic.
It's always nice to see yet another FReeper is in the media,
reporting the news as it actually happened, and not a fabrication of the truth.
Tell your husband I said

I toyed with a Journalism major in college, but quit school to join the Marine Corps in 1966...so it ain't happenin' for me.....BUT - it's always been a fantasy of mine that if I became a wealthy man, I'd give the bulk of my charitable contributions to chairing a Conservative Journalism Scholarship at some worthy university.

Thanks for the ping.
CodePink also slammed themselves with something they had up on their website, and still have up.
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1510698/posts
Text of what they said:
Rule 3: forget your moral questions about the war. Morality is for those who support the war and for those who oppose the war, not for those in the war. Those seriously wounded are still fighting the war so clam up about the immorality of this stupid war.
A corollary to this rule is never protest against a war in front of a military facility, especially a military hospital. That is a no-brainer. You demonstrate against those who made the policy to go to war, not against those who are sworn to carry out the order to go to war. They slammed themselves with that, and never caught it.
It was still in their archives last I saw.

I love how these idiots say we can't guard our borders because we have no troops available.
Trust me, if we made a concerted effort to put troops on the boarder, these SOBs would be screaming in protest about that too; that we're stopping our brown brothers from making a living in the US or some such.

Meaning a collection of leftist idiots who help out our opponents in Iraq. I would gladly give citizenship to illegals, if I could also take citizenship away from the members of Code Pink.

Hi, I'm in your neighboring county where we anxiously await Queen Cindy's arrival next month, ugh. Didn't these nitwits realize where they were? Only a group of idiots would stage such lunacy near Ft. Hood. They're lucky they weren't run out of town. Thanks to you and your husband for all your sacrifices.

God bless you and your husband! We are just down the road from you (Central Texas) and everyone out here is behind you 100%...
My daughter is heading over to Iraq in a few weeks (Sunni Triangle) so let me be the first to tell you that your job as a family member and as a reporter is so very important to our troops. It really makes the difference in morale, and it helps us win this war. My family appreciates what *you* as a reporter are doing for our troops as well!
Tell the truth, and the story will follow! I will be praying for your husband, and praying for you as you go about doing God's work...
I'll be looking for you on the evening news!
To: SoldiersGirl
