Hamas call to fight Israelis as 21 die
By Patrick Bishop in Beit Lahiya
(Filed: 07/07/2006)
A Palestinian minister called on his security forces to take up arms last night after Israeli tanks re-occupied a tract of northern Gaza, provoking the fiercest clashes since an Israeli soldier was seized 11 days ago.
Israeli troops killed at least 21 Palestinians as the air force launched missile strikes and tanks took up position among the Palestinian homes. One soldier was killed.

Saeed Seyam declared a state of emergency
Saeed Seyam, the Palestinian interior minister and a member of the governing Hamas Party, declared a state of emergency and called on his forces to fight "this cowardly Zionist aggression".
Israel has arrested a third of the Palestinian cabinet and destroyed Gaza's only power station since the seizure of Cpl Gilad Shalit on June 25.
Tanks rumbled in to re-occupy three of the 21 Jewish settlements evacuated last summer and probed farther into northern Gaza, daring gunmen to attack them.
The move was ordered after Hamas militants fired home-made rockets into the Israeli city of Ashkelon on Wednesday night. The attack caused no direct casualties but it infuriated the Israeli government as it showed the increased range of the local rocket industry.
Arab states asked the United Nations to demand Israel's withdrawal, but France and the United States criticised their proposed resolution as "unbalanced".

Have we fallen through the portal into a parallel universe?

....called on his forces to fight "this cowardly Zionist aggression". Cowardly, eh? I guess he prefers the "courageous" Palestinian manner of warfare -- blowing up women and children in residential neighborhoods.

Those phony Hamas-nicks, as if until now they didn't declare: "We are a nation that drinks blood", ?
Fact is, Palestinian Arab Muslim terrorists never actually "retaliate", they kill WHENEVER they get a chance, why would they not to?

Tsk, tsk, tsk. The children are screaming at having their bottom slapped hard and they still refuse to do the right thing. I can see they need more discipline.

It does seem rather unlikely, doesn't it?

This call to arms is just propaganda to impress the Palestinian population. Members of Hamas don't want to get massacred any more than the next person. Everyone knows what the result of an all-out fight with the Israelis would be.

Everyone knows what the result of an all-out fight with the Israelis would be. True, but there are Iranians reported to be present assisting the fight against Israel in Gaza. Just like they are already present in Iraq assisting the insurgency. If Iran fully enters the fight, the situation changes dramatically. At any rate, they have achieved some success in their covert Iraq operations. The U.S. is still considered by the populace to be in War IN Iraq. Looks like Iran has no problem with weakening its neighbors through long term covert operations.

That's what I was thinking, the warning was that he was "injured" when they kidnapped him. Hope I'm wrong.

The fight has begun. These early numbers unfortunately wont mean much by the end of the year. There are millions willing to commit suicide for their religion living within this region. Someone is throwing matches on that powder keg right now. IMHO - The number one suspect is the Religious Mahdi Wannabe in Iran. He probably has the tacit support of Chicoms and Chekists.

Has the French leadership been to the Emerald City to see the Wizard? I can't think of a more plausible explanation.I think it was those riots. France has created an immigration nightmare, and their culture hangs in the balance.
There is a tremendous backlash coming in old Europe.

The trouble with Europe is they do not know moderation. I foresee a little ethnic cleansing in their future and it worries me a lot. Not only for innocent Muslims and Europeans both, but I can see us being drawn into a war or peace-keeping operation.
Best to shut off further Muslim immigration and deport all the trouble makers immediately. If they are citizens, long, long prison terms seem about right.

Not only for innocent Muslims and Europeans both, but I can see us being drawn into a war or peace-keeping operation. We are already in the war, have been for years now. We have no troops for any large scale peace-keeping operations on the continent of Europe, or much of anywhere else. The Europeans and the Jihadies will just have to work out their own problems, or not, as the case may be.

Although I suspect that we will have to help the euroweenies out. Europe is simply too important.
