Crazy Kim Jong II of North Korea and Rick Warren Working Together For What Purpose?
Christian Worldview Network ^ | 7-04-2006 | Ingrid Schlueter

Posted on 07/07/2006 12:59:52 PM PDT by The Lumster

While North Korea was gearing up to launch a long range missile and five rockets into the Sea of Japan this week, sending a grim message to the entire world, out at Saddleback Church Rick Warren was announcing that he will soon be bringing his message of purpose to North Korea where he reportedly will be addressing an audience of 15,000.

“God is using Rick Warren to be a messenger of peace!” gushed one Saddleback member. There is great hope in Lake Forest that Rick Warren's message in that stadium will cause Kim Jong II to drop his nuclear purposes and embrace some kinder, gentler ones.

But who exactly will be sitting in that stadium when Mr. Warren steps up to the podium? Given the level of government induced starvation in that country, the average North Korean would be lucky to have the strength to walk to the stadium to hear him in the first place.

Then Rick should be in good shape because a lot of people around here aren't speaking well of him at all.

Two words for Mr. Warren: communist dictator.

Maybe that will help, and save him the jet lag.

Sounds incredibly naive. The stadium will probably be filled with North Korean soldiers and party stooges. The North Korean regime would never allow the average North Korean to hear a message that preaches there is a higher power than the midget Kim Jong Mentally Ill. In North Korea, he and his deranged father were and are God.

Translator: Working for Kim Jong will bring true happiness
Warren: and prosperity
Translator: and you will eat succulent meals
Warren and peace
Translator: and you will crush the enemies of the people with your vast strength

It may be naive. But I applaud him for going. How will they hear without a preacher? He's following the great commission. Personally, I think that more times than not, God's will is accomplished through the naive rather than through the "wise" and "logical."

The problem is he won't be preaching the true gospel.

Not for a moment do these communist butchers believe that Rick Warren will get up and call the communist faithful to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, at whose name every knee will bow. Not for a moment do these leaders worry that they will have a Christian revival on their hands by letting Mr. Warren speak. That's because Rick Warren is now known as the man with the P.E.A.C.E. Plan and the e's in that acronym do not stand for evangelism. The man-centered, counterfeit gospel preached by Rick Warren is a threat to no earthly regime.

I'm not a Warren fan, living in the US we have a wealth of voices to choose from, and he's just one of many.

In North Korea there is only one voice allowed. Into this environment any voice from the West has got to be a breath of fresh air. I remember when Billy Graham first went into the Soviet Union years ago, he was criticized because he was fairly circumspect in his remarks, and he refused to criticize the regime. But it was a crack in the wall, and not many years later, thanks to God and Reagan, the walls came down.

I don't have a problem with him going. My issue is with the idea it will have any impact. The North Koreans always carefully stage manage these kinds of things. The audience will be filled with soldiers and party faithful while putting forth the idea to the rest of the world that North Korea is somehow an open society. And in the end, nothing will change. Certainly North Korea's determination to fire off missiles or develop nukes will not be changed by this. I'm afraid Pastor Warren is being used.

I don't agree with his doctrine, but Christianity is booming in communist China. Maybe he can kick it off in North Korea.

What's the harm? Anything is better than nothing. People hate Rick Warren for the same jealous reason they hate Walmart - he is very successful.

Reflection provides objects (of type Type) that encapsulate assemblies, modules and types. You can use reflection to dynamically create an instance of a type, bind the type to an existing object, or get the type from an existing object and invoke its methods or access its fields and properties. If you are using attributes in your code, Reflection enables you to access them. For more information, see Attributes.

Absolutely. Remember the number of times Billy Graham preached behind the Iron Curtain? We'll never know what role that had in eroding and undercutting communism's strength there, but a book called "Candles Behind the Wall" suggests that it was considerable.

Personally I think Mr Warren is ignorant of Scripture and misguided. In the Bible, both outright defiance against God, as well as ignorance, are worthy of judgement and no excuse.

On that note, 'faithful' is a word I would not use to describe Warren's following after Christ.

Woe for you when the world speaks well of you, for this was the way their forefathers treated the false prophets.

But I applaud him for going. How will they hear without a preacher?

If you want them to hear the gospel, then in that case they should actually send a preacher of the gospel. Not the gospel of 'self fulfillment' or 'purpose.' But the true, offensive gospel. But that wouldn't curry him any favor with Kim Jong Mentally Il, so he (according to pattern set by himself) won't do it.

It must be heady stuff to be in demand by the Council on Foreign Relations, to speak before the United Nations and before Bill Gates and Ted Turner.

Rick Warren has--GASP!--gone New World Order!!!!

Bill Moyers, who was also mentioned in the article, has gone NWO in a big way. All his recent PBS programs are shilling for Georg Soros, pure and simple!!!! He even had Soros (who is his major patron) as a "guest" on his program "NOW", which Moyers left about a year ago. Moyers was once merely a traditional liberal--now he's "Third Way"/NWO. I guess it pays better.

Now Moyers is doing a "Faith Versus Reason" program--more anti-Christian propaganda. What do you expect from someone who did those Serbophobic programs about "Bosnia" in the 1990s?
