| WASHINGTON, July 7, 2006 North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has the power to set his country on a more productive course by giving up its nuclear and ballistic missile ambitions, President Bush said today during a news conference at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. "There's a choice for him to make," Bush said. "He can verifiably get rid of his weapons programs and stop testing rockets, and there's a way forward to help his people. The choice is his to make." North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is an isolated, repressive regime of 23 million people that has experienced wide-scale starvation under its current leader. Earlier this week, in defiance of international wishes, the communist country test-fired seven ballistic missiles. Bush reiterated that diplomacy is the best way to deal with recent North Korean provocations and explained that patience is important. "It takes a while for a problem to fester and grow, and then it takes a while to solve them diplomatically. It's just the nature of diplomacy," he said. "I wish we could solve them overnight, but I'm realistic." The international community must come together to put pressure on North Korea to reform its ways, Bush said, and urged China, Japan, Russia and South Korea, all participants in the Six-Party Talks, to seek a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning North Korea for its missile launches. "It's best for all of us to go to the U.N. Security Council and say loud and clear, 'Here are some red lines. And that's what we're in the process of doing,'" Bush said. "What matters most of all is for Kim Jong Il to see the world speak with one voice." |

"Wone-wy, I'm so wone-wy and sad-wy a-wone."
Chai Pet!! LOL!
Bush is lining up his "ducks". Then he will trick Kerry into voting "for" action before he votes "against" it and then Katy bar the door.
Like shooting them all into the water?
If Bush continues to talk while N. Korea conducts Jim Jones missile launches, Seoul could end up paying the price. Meanwhile, Taiwan will see what our word is worth as Seoul's future will likely foretell their future in the event China sees weakness in the US.
History will learn whether Bush stands with the globalists at the UN or with friends against communism.
Bush can ensure the safety of Seoul and Taiwan and Americans who'll be expected to come to their rescue by simply taking out N. Korea's missiles where they stand. Period.
Bush very much needs follow up on this stand off. Our safety and security as we know it depends on it. It's easy for others to "down" Bush when we don't know the whole of it, but it's impossible for him to let us and the whole world know exactly what he is planning to do. Everyone is crying that he isn't doing right, but then when something like this with North Korea happens, what do we do? We follow the leader we elected in and stop pointing fingers. We must support our president and what he chooses to do, even if we don't fully understand what it is he is doing. Follow a person, not a party, that is what splits our nation in two. Want to bet our next president is from the other party just because everyone wants to point a finger?! God help us if we continue to go on like this. We united after Sept. 11th and then slowly fell apart, accusing this one or that one. Those terrorists had been here at least 10 years to put this plan into motion. We have to stay on top of this and not let then terrorize us or take us unaware again. War is not pretty and many will lose their lives, but if they did not believe in what they were doing and love our counrty, they would not be there to begin with, afterall, we have no draft and have no need for one.
