The new white PSP is coming to Europe soon, and Sonys marketing department has put together an ad that will certainly be controversial (read: racist). The billboard shows a white woman, white hair and white clothes abusing a black individual. I bet shes thinking white PSP power. Clearly this doesnt appeal to anyone else than Starbucks Moccachino-drinking buzzword-throwing Manhattan marketers. I feel like getting rid of my (black) PSP in protest.

we see the race card pulled out all the time for the most random things. Usually it is for anything/anyone that does not endorse the left. This was made for European consumption where apparently it is ok. what do you guys thing of this ad. this particular picture with the slogan PSP white is coming.
Yeahh....... Mmmmmkay.
It's like one of them things where you don't see it unless it's told to you. If I hadn't been told of the so-called racist aspect, I probably wouldn't have noticed.
If anyone wants to get rid of PSP over this ad, please send it to me ;) I can always use another electronic toy....
I guess males should be offended by the ad. This advertisement perpetuates the idea that it is okay for female models in skimpy clothing to sexually assault young men whenever it strikes their fancy.
I, for one, am extremely offended that this blatantly sexist aspect of the ad was not pointed out in the article.
You don't have to be Jesse Jackson to see racism in this ad. The way she is grasping her victim kind of reminds me of old depictions I have seen of slave auctions. The ad seems to combine racism with sexualized violence (a domination theme). This is sick.
I suppose they should have switched roles and it would have been ok...
Exactly, if the role was switched it would have never been mentioned
Nothing even remotely racist about it. The old PSP were black and grey (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007TFLLC/qid=1152333238/sr=1-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-0802585-3346206?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=electronics&v=glance&n=172282)
, the new ones are white, thus Play Station White (the new model) showing its dominance over the non-white PSP. Not racist, not violence, not sexualized violence, and only sick if there's something extremely wrong with you to see all those things in it.
From that comic:
"Don't trust any Japanese prisoner - they're tough babies...and think it glorious to die if they can take an enemy with them!"
Hey, there was actually a time when people got the concepts behind Guantanamo! ;)
"Abusing"? In some circles...that would be considered "foreplay".
People need to relax.
Europeans are so progressive and open-minded that they throw bananas and make monkey sounds at black soccer players. This ad would seem to target that kind of demographic.
It's more tacky than racists.
Sort of an indictment about a European society gradually being replaced by deviants and perverts.
Like the Mexican dustballs are any better.

Thanks for digging up the related images. The one where the black woman is on top got me thinking...would that image also mean white racism?
Call the "Fashion Police" 1st.
This ad is only racist for people who want to make it racist. It's a choice.
But isn't this more white racism...it depicts the black woman as too aggressive to a white victim. The other still being white racism too because the black woman is a victim of a white aggressor...Or is that just the conditioned hypersensitive response of decades of liberal propaganda?
Controversy is good advertisement. Its fine by me.
Indeed.
One would hope that the New World will be able to avoid the fate of the Old World.
Hey - we 're all equal right ? Which means anybody can abuse anybody they want . Equal opportunity S/M .
Some people are born with their skin inside out, so all of the nerve endings are exposed to the slightest breeze.
They usually want money.
I like all three of them!
