Morning all!

Wow! Lannie Davis and Katrina Vanden Heuvel have been going at one another and talking over the other's talking points with respect to Joe Lieberman, and other Lib-topics! There is a definite schism on display here between the Machiavellian Left, who want their power back and are willing to disguise their intentions and at least act reasonable, and the Hard Left, who want political 'purity' and their power back!

The rifts in the Dumbos are deliciously on display. As Rush has opined and counciled them to avoid.....Is this the Democratic Crackup?

Thanks, AB & Good Morning to everyone!

Tim Russert's blather after Bush's presser:

"Bush hoped moving the pressers to other cities might lead local reporters to offer some questions on the theme of the day. Todays theme was the economy, and how robust it is, in his mind. That did not succeed, based on the questions he was asked".

The same day, AP(!) reports that Federal deficit fall below $300B as surging tax revenues continue to signal significant improvement. The improvements in the deficit picture come despite the high cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and continuing federal outlays related to Hurricane Katrina and other disasters last year.

That 's AP reporting. So, is the economy robust "only in Bush's mind" as Russert says? You decide.

Katrina Vanden Heuvel on C-SPAN-- Caller asked where they think we would be in the War on Terror if we had not gone into Iraq: "you need to stop calling it a war... what is required is smart policing"

FNC's Julian Phillips is losing his Fox & Friends Weekend anchor gig, FTVLive reports. The site says Phillips couldn't muster up on-screen chemistry with Kiran Chetry and Alisyn Camerota. D.C. correspondent Kelly Wright will replace Phillips "as soon as this weekend." In addition, Rudi Bakhtiar is reportedly getting a higher-profile assignment in the 5pm hour. She may be used to attract more eyeballs to The Big Story; it was the lowest-rated weekday FNC program in the 25-54 demographic in the second quarter...

Lanny was the Lieberman Guy
Katrina was the Lemont Guy

They both make me laugh, Katrina boarders on insufferable most of the time, but I guess you don't go to the circus and then act surprised to see the CLOWNS.

The Washington press corps lives in their own little world.

True, but what 's shame is that Russert is the Washington Managing Editor of NBC. If he has NO knowledge about economy, he should refrain from commenting on that or look for experts.

Here 's a start:

Just over the past 11 quarters, dating back to the June 2003 Bush tax cuts, America has increased the size of its entire economy by 20 percent. In less than three years, the U.S. economic pie has expanded by $2.2 trillion, an output add-on that is roughly the same size as the total Chinese economy, and much larger than the total economic size of nations like India, Mexico, Ireland, and Belgium.

When I saw Nicholas Burns, I thought he was Tom Kean Jr! Doesn't he look a lot like former Gov Kean?

As soon as I saw Katrina van den H. on CSPAN I turned it off. I find her to be one of the more obnoxious lefties. Some aren't so bad, like Ellen Ratner. But Katrina is so smug.

Good riddance. I did read the thread yesterday, but thanks for posting this!

Others might want to check out Fox News this morning--it's a Julian Free Zone!

Is Kelly liberal?

The site says Phillips couldn't muster up on-screen chemistry with Kiran Chetry and Alisyn Camerota.

Jessh! They shoulda asked me! I have the right chemistry for Fox News' Babes!

Oh I'm sure he's well aware of those numbers. He just doesn't want to notion that the economy is in great shape to become accepted by many Americans.

In less than three years, the U.S. economic pie has expanded by $2.2 trillion....

And yet Nedra Pickler yesterday in a piece on the President's press conference in Chicago referred to the declining economy. Their tactic: if there is no bad news, just make some up.
