- He has been the governor in Indiana; he now serves as a U.S. Senator, and is working on a possible presidential run. Sunday, anyone aspiring to do the same had the chance to ask Senator Evan Bayh about the campaign process.

It's known as Camp Evan Bayh, which is aimed at helping Democrats win elections.

Just a taste A group of aspiring politicians got a taste of what it could be like to run for office this weekend at the Century Center in South Bend.

About 80 people participated in the camp, getting advice at the end of the three-day program, from Senator Evan Bayh himself.

Sunday afternoon, Senator Evan Bayh spoke with participants in the campaign training program, which is ran through the All-American PAC.

South Bend is the second of three places where the camp is held.

Students receive training on how to start, finance, and win a campaign.

Bayh is the spark behind the camps as a way to get more people involved in politics. He says, "If our state and country are going to fulfill our potential it’s going to be by all of us involved and we need to get more young people involved. The whole idea of this is to get more young involved in public life if they don't choose to do that or be more concerned and involved citizens."

Camp Participant Kevin Watson says, "It’s been a good program met a lot of people from around the state some from around the country and its just good to see other people perspective to see what others wanted from process themselves good chance for everyone to learn and relate."

Pressing on Political analysts are giving Bayh strong marks for his campaign strategy in Iowa.

He realizes he has an uphill battle ahead of him, but that's not stopping him.

After all, he did win a statewide election as a Democrat in a Republican state five times.

Bayh forgot to teach them how to come to indiana before election time and tell people he is a homegrown midwestern family values guy, who represent the good folks of Indiana. All while going to washington and voting for gay rights, abortion, and other "family values" that fellow hoosiers, in a red state, elected him for.

Interesting article, hes getting desperate:

Bayh criticizes Democrats

WASHINGTON Indiana Senator Evan Bayh is challenging the Democratic Party to establish an agenda aimed at middle-class voters.
In a speech delivered today in Washington and Iowa, Bayh said middle-class voters are a critical constituency that he says the party has let slip away.

Bayh says the party has focused most of its attention on the needs of lower-income Americans, but it also must address issues that matter to people on the next rung up the economic ladder.

Bayh has been a frequent visitor to Iowa as he decides whether to seek the Democratic presidential nomination. A recent state poll showed him trailing far behind other potential Democratic contenders.

He said that should he decide to run, creating opportunities for the middle class will be a focus of his campaign.
