I voted for Castro to be dead before I voted against for him to be dead....
Mod please change new to news.
Elvis has NOT left the building PING
He's just warming up to break Arafats dead-not dead record.
Syd Barrett was really Fidel Castro in disguise.
Damn. I could have used some good news today.
You'd probably get a faster response time from the Mod if you hit abuse on your first post, then explain your request.
If they retracted it, how is it news?
Whenever Castro does finally kick, you can bet there will be endless glowing specials about him by many in the media.
True or not, this makes me wonder how the MSM will talk about his reign upon his death. Get the barf bags ready.
Castro won't die until he's been dead a few dozen times already. He's now one more death announcement closer...
Do they really respond faster to people who abuse themselves?
Could be that someone is hiding the news?
LOL!--considering this is a semi-public forum, I would think they wouldn't want that, don't you?
Shows newspapers everywhere are as incompetant as is the N.Y. times.
So if he is dead will they bury him in a humidor?
I think this suggests he's dead and someone in Venezuela let the cat out of the bag.
EFE is the Spanish (from Spain) version of AP. It's usually pretty accurate. Hmmmm....
Reminds me of the old joke:
"Sorry to hear your business burned down, Jake."
"Shhhhhhhh, that's not until tomorrow."
Maybe the Venezuelan press, friends of that monster Chavez, have inside information about Castro's upcoming "assisted" death but got the dates wrong. Stranger things have happened, especially in Latin American politics.
and wouldn't his best bosom pal hugo chavez be the first to know that he croaked? there may be some fire beneath this smoke, yet.
Say it aint so Pinchy! Tell us who broke the BJ and Monica in the oval office story again.... after you sat on it for 6 months... the people have a "right to know" who's making mushrooms outta them!
He's just warming up to break Arafats dead-not dead record.Following that one was a hoot.
"will they bury him in a humidor?"
Unfortunately, considering where he's surely going, all the humidity in the world won't stop THAT cigar from smoking...

He's pining for the fjords!
Everybody go out unto the web and find one well-documented case of Castro's state-sponsored murders (how hard can that be?) and file it away for his obit thread. We report, we decide.
"I think this suggests he's dead and someone in Venezuela let the cat out of the bag. "
I wondered about the same thing.
"Castro Dead? [Jonah Goldberg]
Two e-friends working on Wall Street say rumors are running around that he's bought the big one. I find nothing on the wires.
Posted at 2:33 PM"
He's just mostly dead.

Dan Rather may even come back from the dead to provide the eulogy.
But we've got to verify it legally
To see...
To see...
If he...
If he...
Is morally, ethically
Spiritually, physically
Positively, absolutely
Undeniably and reliably
dead
Me too. Even if Castro isn't dead, and it was a mistake, when Castro finally DOES bite the big one, I don't think Cuba will be advertising his death to the world.
Fyi...something is going on I suspect...have there been any recent reports of Castro being ill.
CUSTOMER: Here's one.
CART MASTER: Ninepence.
CASTRO: ¡No soy muerto!
CART MASTER: What?
CUSTOMER: Nothing. Here's your ninepence.
CASTRO: ¡No soy muerto!
CART MASTER: 'Ere. He says he's not dead!
CUSTOMER: Yes, he is.
CASTRO: ¡No soy!
CART MASTER: He isn't?
CUSTOMER: Well, he will be soon. He's very ill.
CASTRO: ¡Estoy consiguiendo mejor!
CUSTOMER: No, you're not. You'll be stone dead in a moment.
CART MASTER: Oh, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
CASTRO: ¡No deseo ir en el carro!
CUSTOMER: Oh, don't be such a baby.
CART MASTER: I can't take him.
CASTRO: ¡Me siento muy bien!
CUSTOMER: Well, do us a favour.
CART MASTER: I can't.
CUSTOMER: Well, can you hang around a couple of minutes? He won't be long.
CART MASTER: No, I've got to go to the Robinsons'. They've lost nine today.

CASTRO: [singing] ¡Me siento feliz! ¡Me siento feliz!
[whop]
CUSTOMER: Ah, thanks very much.
CART MASTER: Not at all. See you on Thursday.
An egomaniac like Castro would not allow talk about succession unless he knew he was dying
Generalíssimo Francisco Franco is still dead!
Oh well... It's not like the celebratory cigar I bought today will go to waste.
It's been long planned that his sister Raoul would take over if Fidel died first. He ain't much younger than Fidel though.
-well, castro is older then dirt.....could be the big one, you never know.

Yes, and yes...but this close to his 80th birthday (7/13) it could also be a Cuban pysops ruse.
Lord, endless babble about the island paradise of Cuba.
Bush just signed funding to help the Cubans once Castro kicks the bucket...hoping to normalize relations.
He's gotta die sooner or later. (Hopefully sooner)
Then who will run Cuba?
Like Arafat?
The only good Fidel Castro is a dead Fidel Castro.
U.S. President George Bush Monday approved a comprehensive report on how the United States would assist a possible transition to democracy in Cuba. [Only on Castro's death]
