(MONONGAHELA, July 12) – Washington County Commissioner and Pennsylvania 12th district Republican Congressional nominee Diana Irey – responding to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraising video using images of caskets of fallen American soldiers – today released the following statement:

“The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee this week sent out a fundraising video using images of caskets of fallen American soldiers. Raising campaign cash off the deaths of our honored dead is revolting. Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel should be ashamed of themselves – and so should any Democrat who stands for this.

“Consequently, I have a new question for Jack Murtha today: Do you approve of exploiting fallen American heroes for political fundraising purposes? If not, will you join me in demanding that Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel apologize, and then insist that the DCCC forward any funds raised off this disgusting solicitation to appropriate charities?”

I sent Irey a little money from Tennessee, and plan to be at the Gore/Murtha lovefest here Aug. 12. I also contacted Phil Valentine (conservative radio show host from Nashville who led the state's tax revolt a few years ago)today and alerted him about the meet.

Let's come out in force and show Murtha and his ilk what we Americans think about their despicable behavior.

Any suggestions on the upcoming freep of Murtha here in Tennessee? I'm bookmarking all threads with his quotes and articles about his corruptness for ideas.

Diana Irey is doing a good job of taking Murtha to task for his uncalled for remarks regarding our men in uniform.

However, she risks becoming too closely identified with the Iraq War. She needs to emphasize what she plans to do for the district.

She is in a unique position,IMHO,like no other congressional candidate in my memory.

She has the opportunity to campaign nationally and locally.

I can't think of any of the other 434 challengers to House incumbents this year that have that national ability.

It's an interesting asset for her.

I don't live in her district, but close enough to it to know that locally, she campaigns locally. Makes sense, that's where the votes are.

Murtha is a gift that keeps on giving.
