"If Bush says Isreal has a right to defend itself, why can't we defend ourselves against the illegal invasion from the south?"

Because our government does not see it as an illegal invasion......

"Our INTENTIONALLY unsecured borders and our government's DELIBERATE and unapologetic lack of enforcement of our immigration and employment laws is merely a necessary step to a much larger goal...."

This reminds me of a question I had last week. I read the story about the Tongan prince killed in SF in a car accident. It said that 108,000 lived in Tonga... and that 37,000 Tongans lived in the US. That's an astouning 34% of the population in Tonga!

What country has the highest proportion of its total population residing in the US?

Mexico clearly has the highest number of citizens residing here - at least 11 million, more likely close to 20 million - making their percentage about 20% of their home population. Simply amazing.

And... Can we send our poorest (and then our most unsavory criminals) somewhere else?

I wonder what Israel's numbers are. They should be up there, too.

Please go to the official site yourself and read the Bill. This isn't about WorldNet Daily. This is about a proposed law by a Republican Senator who has gone clueless on enforcing our existing laws. The only thing the President and Senate have done to date is shower Mexico and the Illegals with goodies that, frankly, they do not deserve. Let the rich of their own society [Mexican] come up with the money to help their OWN PEOPLE. It's not my job, and it's certainly not Americas.

In fairness to Senator Cornyn, this is his biography from his own website:

John Cornyn, of San Antonio, is a voice for Texas values in Washington. He was sworn in to the U.S. Senate on December 2, 2002, succeeding Phil Gramm.

Sen. Cornyn continues to take a leading role on many issues in the Senate. He is committed to bolstering America’s national defense and homeland security, working to strengthen the economy and grow jobs, making health care more accessible, and improving educational opportunity for all Texans.

After just one year in the Senate, John Cornyn was chosen by leadership to serve as a Deputy Whip. As a member of the Whip team, he helps mobilize votes and support on major issues. Sen. Cornyn serves on five key Senate committees: Armed Services; Judiciary; Budget; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and the Joint Economic Committee. He chairs the Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship and the Armed Services Committee’s subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.

Sen. Cornyn is a prominent supporter of President Bush’s judicial nominees, he continues to work for Texas military personnel and veterans, and has been a leader on working to bring about common sense, balanced immigration reform. He stands as a dedicated defender of free markets, traditional values, and individual liberty.

In addition to his legislative committees, Sen. Cornyn is the chairman of the Senate India Caucus, vice chairman of the Senate Republican Conference Task Force on Hispanic Affairs, vice chairman of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, and a member of the Senate Republican Task Force on Health Care Costs and the Uninsured, the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force, Congressional Oversight Group on Trade, and the President’s Export Council. While in the Senate, John Cornyn has received various awards and recognitions, including the 2005 Border Texan of the Year Award; the National Child Support Enforcement Association's Children's Champion Award; the American Farm Bureau Federation's Friend of Farm Bureau Award; the Texas Association of Business's Fighter for Free Enterprise Award; and the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce's (TAMACC) International Leadership Legislative Award; among others.

As Texas Attorney General from 1999-2002, John Cornyn directed many initiatives vital to the interests of Texas families. Cornyn served for six years as a District Court Judge in San Antonio before being elected to the Texas Supreme Court in 1990, where he served for seven years.

John Cornyn was born in Houston on February 2, 1952, the son of John and Gale Cornyn, both native Texans. His father, a B-17 pilot in World War II, served for thirty-one years in the U.S. Air Force and, later, taught at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. A graduate of Trinity University and St. Mary's School of Law, both in San Antonio, John Cornyn also earned a Masters of Law from the University of Virginia Law School in 1995. He was named the St. Mary's Distinguished Law School Graduate in 1994 and a Trinity University Distinguished Alumnus in 2001.

Sen. Cornyn is married to Sandy, his wife of 26 years. They have two daughters.

"I don't know what the details are, but trust me, Cornyn is one of the most conservative senators in Wash, DC. World Net Daily also does not have the greatest credibility, especially Farrah. I just moved to LA a month ago but lived in TX for 18 years and I was nothing but impressed with Cornyn."

I don't know the exact percentage, but I don't that Kerry won my congressional district and that it was close. I found a website, with a map, which is color-coded, to show presidential election resutls, by congressional districts. My district is light blue.

I know of 11 state legislators in my congressional district, including seven Democrats, two RINO's, and two conservative Republicans.

Excellent post: correct, bumper-sticker sized, and words small enough for a liberal to understand. Spread that one around!!

Just like with every other issue of aid to a foreign country, I don't like it very much unless it SERVES our interests.

I don't see that in this bill.

An example of where it serves OUR country is in a country like Iraq or Afghanistan because we are still heavily involved there.

And just becuase this bill was proposed doesn't mean crap about the NAU kookery. I'm sure the nuts will continue to try to tie this in with one and another, but I could tie in the Civil War to the rise of HItler if I tied my tinfoil on tight enough.

I don't care for foreign aid. We still have people down on the Gulf Coast living in tents for crying out loud. Our country has a huge deficit that won't be paid off in my lifetime or my children's lifetimes. It seems the more money we give away, the more groups that hate us. Aid to Haiti, Mexico and the like will mostly go to the corrupt politiicans.

Our corrupt politicians don't seem to grasp how hard many Americans have to work and sacrafice for the money they so freely fritter away!

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, has quietly introduced a bill to create a "North American Investment Fund" that would tap U.S. and Canadian taxpayers for the development of public works projects in Mexico.

Well, they are going to need better public works when we ship 10 million to 12 million visitors back over the next few years.

I really don't have an opinion, but the bill itself (I skimmed it) appears to be legislation to raise Mexican taxes. I'm not sure if it's a workable concept. [even mixture of sarcasm and seriousness]
