I can't find it now but the poll I saw from last week had Bell way, way, way in last place with Kinky and name of the week pulling in the low 20s.
Not the same one I recall seeing but here's a SurveyUSA poll as of the end of June:
20% Bell (D)
21% Friedman (I)
35% Perry (R)
19% Strayhorn (I)
2% Other
3% Undecided
So you're right about Strayhorn and Bell is higher in this one than the one I saw (I think he was either 12 or 14%).
Survey of 500 Likely Voters
May 16, 2006
Election 2006: Texas Governor | |
---|---|
Rick Perry (R) | 38% |
Chris Bell (D) | 14% |
Carole Keeton Strayhorn (I) | 19% |
Kinky Friedman (I) | 20% |
It's still very early in the process of people making a definitive choice but the candidates will be on the trail.
Yup. I think when I vote I'll just flip a coin for the Libertarian or Kinky. Although I might just vote for Kinky just for kicks. I'd love to have a governor named Kinky.
Those numbers look familiar, might be I saw the Rasmussen and thought it was current (or I might have seen them in May and thought it was last week!).
Thanks a million.
Yup, still very early.
