Political campaigns have a great way of revealing deeper truths about a society, and Floridas gubernatorial election is no exception. After years of observing cultural trends, listening to stump speeches, considering candidate records, and speaking with Floridians across the state, it is clear that Florida is at a moral crossroads.
When Gov. Ronald Reagan left California to lead our nation, Californians faced a stark choice between two visions for their state's future. To put it simply, they chose a culture of instant gratification, promiscuity, and secularism over a culture of principle, family, and faith traditions. They made the wrong choice, and are paying for it with high rates of abortion, drug use, divorce, crime, and school dropouts.
Now Florida faces a similar alternative in choosing its next governor. Issues such as taxes, education, and insurance are important and should be debated vigorously. But politics is about more than who gets what. Nothing is more crucial to the destiny of a people than its cultural heritage. Social issues define us as a people and a governor sets the moral tone and climate for a state. Floridians cannot afford to make the mistake of California -- to vote without first considering the character, principles, and lifestyles of its leaders.
Tom Gallagher will stand up for the basic conservative values and institutions that Floridians cherish. Charlie Crist will not. Tom Gallagher will protect traditional marriage, defend life and work to end the scourge of abortion, and defend family values. His record, character, and personal testimony speak to these convictions. Charlie Crist's principles arise out of political expediency.
Today, the most basic human institution of our society is under attack and needs defending. Marriage between one man and one woman is not merely a lifestyle choice. It is a sacred bond and an essential institution for raising children that is recognized and celebrated by every major religion and culture in history. The stakes are high for everyone when activist judges violate the will of voters and write gay marriage into law.
Tom Gallagher is an adamant supporter of traditional marriage and Florida's families, and he has the real life experience to back this up. He proudly supports a ban on gay marriage. Charlie Crist refuses to come clean about his position on the issue. He offers lip service in support of traditional marriage, and then flip flops under pressure from the left. Just last year Charlie Crist said that there was no need for a constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union between one man and one woman.
On the abortion issue, the difference between Tom Gallagher and Charlie Crist is just as clear. Tom Gallagher is 100% pro-life. He is a proud father who understands the sanctity of life and is willing to defend it. On this issue as well, Charlie Crist is a political opportunist who is unwilling to clearly reject a practice that has killed more than 45 million American unborn children.
Charlie Crist is a conservative impostor. He claims to be pro-life and even told a priest that he would sign a South Dakota-style abortion ban. Moments later he retracted this statement when pressed by reporters. But his record speaks louder than his words. Charlie Crist is so "pro-choice" that he cast a deciding vote against a 24-hour waiting period for an abortion. Even the liberal NARAL Pro-Choice America rates Charlie Crist as "mixed choice" for his support for abortion rights. This should not come as a surprise. Charlie Crist is the same man who praised the judges that ordered Terri Schaivo's feeding tube removed, condemning her to death by starvation. Our next governor will select at least two Supreme Court Justices to serve on the state's highest court to preside over these important moral issues. We will have a unique opportunity to tip the court's balance to a 4-3 majority in favor of judicial restraint. Tom Gallagher has the character to make good choices, and Charlie Crist has indirectly told us through his actions and his words that he will nominate two liberals.
There is a reason why more than 100 social conservative leaders in Florida have endorsed Tom Gallagher. That is because Gallagher is without question the strongest pro-life, pro-family candidate in the race -- period. Charlie Crist may be a good man but he is not the best qualified man for the job -- especially for social conservatives. Charlie Crist lacks the credentials, principles, and life experience to lead Florida on these crucial issues. Tom Gallagher is ready for the challenge.
...as in, deal with the devil? Florida failed that test definitively last year. Perhaps much further back than that.
Is that you Tom?
Well who else did you have in mind, Claude Kirk?
The usual suspects are after Tom with the long knives, thought you'd like to know why. He is not perfect, but at least Tom is not a RINO.
It's just that the rhetoric was a little over the top, IMHO.
Gallagher's a good man, he has his faults. He's done a little "morphing" himself in the time he's been in office.
True, now he's a conservative candidate, but he wasn't always as gung ho conservative as he is now, and he had his "bachelor days" too, just like Crist.
The man has run for governor (how many times? 3 I think.)
Maybe he'll win, maybe he won't, the good news is we will have another Republican governor, of that I'm sure.
What did Florida do last year?
Regarding the tan guy Crist , sumtin just aint natural about that guy.
Some judge signed an order to starve a crippled girl to death. And everyone said it was "just."
Not everyone...
If you are a young man, and you are not a liberal, then you have no heart. If you are an old man, and are not a conservative, then you have no brain. Paraphrase Winston Churchill. As the to over the top qualified.... he really does know the issues. I have seen people try to trip him up. I can't wait for the debates, if Charlie will agree to debate. That Charlie won't agree to debate says quite alot. Amblivilence in this race is not a virtue. WE cannot afford on the job training in an insurance crisis.
"Some judge signed an order to starve a crippled girl to death. And everyone said it was "just.""
Not really.
The husband did, the husbands lawyer did, they judge did.
The lawyer and judge both belong to a group which advocates putting people to death when they are no longer "useful" to society.
the husband and the lawyer can't "order" anything. the judge, carrying the authority and force of the government, and acting as an agent of the government charged with upholding applicable law under the Constitutions(s), authorized and enforced the starvation of Terri Schiavo.
"the husband and the lawyer can't "order" anything. the judge, carrying the authority and force of the government, and acting as an agent of the government charged with upholding applicable law under the Constitutions(s), authorized and enforced the starvation of Terri Schiavo."
The husband lied, the lawyer manipulated those lies, and the judge issued orders based on those lies. If any one of those hadn't been there then the system would have worked.
A culture of life = Tom Gallagher. A culture of death = Charlie Crist (no matter what his campaign stuff says).
Tom Gallagher has proven leadership qualities. Charlie Crist is an expert at passing the buck. The future is a brave new world. I'd rather have Gallagher lead us than the buck passing liberal.

(voting through July 26th.)
These days, I am seeking out Charlie Crist and can't wait to tell him what I just told you. And when he loses, the best part is Crist will have done it to himself. And he'll know it, too. Guys like me will see to it.
Who is Jeb endorsing?

Has Jeb said anything about Christ? To tell you the truth, that was/is who I wanted to vote for. He is really involved and keeps on top of things.
I have several issues with Crist...Right now my vote goes for Tom...enough said...
That leaves little in the state budget for the rest.
Crist is not fiscally astute and he's making commercials like he's Tom Cruise cranking out Mission Impossible sequels.
Tom Gallagher is a businessman who wouldn't do such a dumb tv commercial just to get teachers' votes.
It is inappropriate to hail anyone's death. It shows a lack of compassion and etiquette. We should respect the living and the death. A grown man should know that.
Fixing Typo: "It is inappropriate to hail anyone's death. It shows a lack of compassion and etiquette. We should respect the living and the DEAD. A grown man should know that."
Well...that does it for me. Thank you. The teachers and their salaries and spending are my achiles heel. He'll never get my vote.
When is the erection, prease? I'll vote if you can tell me this date.

(Crist's heroes, Judge Greer and Judge Whittemore murdered Terri Schiavo and as FLA AG, Crist did nothing to prevent it.) Fla AG's Civil Rights Dept. for the disabled CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
I think it more accurate to say that they chose leftism, which implies constant and detailed interference by the state in everyone's lives. I don't discount the need for virtue, but my opinion is that the problems listed are more the result of government interference, which necessarily destroys virtue, than a conscious choice by the people to be immoral.
Instant gratification may be falsley promised by the Left, but is not actually something that any government can really supply, at least not for long or in much quantity.
Today's challenge: Find a jpeg of Charlie Crist posing with somebody in a wheelchair.
Mission Impossible IV?
"The Church of Scientology has a strong hold in that part of Florida. Scientology abhors the disabled. LRonHubbard is the founder of Scientology. The following quote is from Michael Brown's editorial:
"Said Hubbard's son in an interview: "I believed in Satanism. There was no other religion in the house! Scientology and black magic. What a lot of people don't realize is that Scientology is black magic that is just spread out over a long time period. To perform black magic generally takes a few hours or, at most, a few weeks. But in Scientology it's stretched out over a lifetime, and so you don't see it. Black magic is the inner core of Scientology --and it is probably the only part of Scientology that really works. Also, you've got to realize that my father did not worship Satan. He thought he was Satan. He was one with Satan."
So, LRonHubbard was "one with Satan". He created a religion with it's "mecca" in Clearwater. The ME who will perform the autopsy is part of the same government that brought such stellar individuals as BTK greer; Sixth Circuit Court Judge Mark I. Shames; Attorney General Charlie Crist; Deborah Bushnell; Rep. Gus Bilikaris; Sheriff Everett Rice; and the list goes on..."
(the list includes CHARLIE CRIST.) FV
This sign outside of his office in Tallahassee hurt Jeb's feelings. Jeb's a big baby. At least his brother doesn't get his feelings hurt like Jeb does. A man who lets a protest sign get to him, isn't presidential or vice presidential material.
I'm certain Terri's dying of dehydration/starvation hurt a lot more than a sign outside of Jeb's office hurt him.
Terri got no limo ride after her pre-meditated murder. Terri's in the white van in the jpeg you posted. The white van was provided by the same cabal that set out to murder her. After Terri was robbed of her rehab monies and forced into poverty, it was much easier for Medicaid to defraud her. A woman with over half a million dollars was turned into an indigent and then murdered.
When Charlie Crist says on tv that "he fought against Medicaid Fraud, he failed to mention the fraud perpetrated against Terri Schiavo by State, Local and Federal officials.
I have found that a clean conscience is not easily offended.
Perhaps I didn't phrase that quite right, as I don't mean to imply that Jeb Bush's conscience isn't clean -- it's not for me to know.
But, I think hurt feelings can be a sign of self-absorption that isn't becoming of the best of leadership material.
On the other hand, perhaps he was frustrated that people expected more of him than he truly felt it was his place to deliver.
My opinion is, though, that the principle of protecting life is a fundamental tenet of this land, and so the means were at the disposal of any and all to do so in Ms. Schiavo's case. That those means were thwarted speaks of an issue of the will of those whose responsibility it is to interpret and uphold the law.
And although MICHAEL SCHIAVO used to hate being called a murderer, he's really grown to thrive on the idea of murder and euthanasia and IMO, he is the culture of death's Head Nurse.

It seems subliminal to me.
His first commercial had people vanishing on and off the sidewalk he was on.
What up with that? I Don't like the images of vanishing people and blurry people. Except for his picture which is crystal clear. Do we have any psyops around here? Somebody w/Crist is blurring people and he approved the ads. (I heard that the swiftboard ad co. is doing Crist's ads).
Is blurring people in an ad a subliminal message?
CHARLIE CRIST LET MY DAUGHTER DIE
by Robert Schindler, Sr.
Posted Jul 31, 2006
As most Americans know, on March 31, 2005, my daughter, Terri Schindler Schiavo died of starvation and thirst after having her feeding tube removed by court order. The sad chain of events that concluded with Terris death ignited a media firestorm nationally and internationally. What few saw or heard was the callous inaction of aspiring governor Charlie Crist.
Florida Atty. Gen. Charlie Crist let my daughter die. He had it within his authority to save her life, but he turned a blind eye to her suffering. Even worse, he worked to ensure her death.
Terri lived in a neurologically compromised state for reasons that are still unknown, and my family wanted nothing more than permission to care for Terri for the span of her natural life. We were denied.
My daughter tenaciously fought for her life for more than 13 days after being deprived of the most basic, natural and constant need that we all sharethe need for nourishmentfood and water. Terri was not on a respirator, nor terminally ill. She was not dying, nor succumbing to a dreadful disease. She was disabled. She was dependent on others, but still very much a life, a woman, and a person.
Over the course of several years, our family, our lawyers, and our friends pleaded for help from local, county, and state police and regulatory agencies with constitutional and statutory authority to investigate the many sworn statements of extreme abuse and neglect suffered by our daughter.
Hoping to save my daughters life, our family sought the help of Attorney General Charlie Crist. Not only did Charlie Crist refuse our family lawful access to the assets of his office, but he violated his oath of office by actively cooperated with those in positions of political and judicial authority whom denied us legal access to the police and regulatory systems meant to protect the weak. Multiple sworn agents from responsible police and regulatory agencies who found probable cause to investigate allegations of abuse in Terri's judicial and physical care, were ordered to shut down those probes. This heavy-handedness made us powerless.
Information of direct interest to Attorney General Charlie Crist's office was directly delivered to his personal hands, and he refused to properly execute the duties of his office. And it was with deliberate decision that he failed to attend a scheduled Tallahassee meeting with our family. On another occasion, we approached each other by chance. Upon recognizing me, Charlie Crist abruptly stopped and walked away.
That callous action encapsulates Charlie Crist. He walked away from a man whose daughters fate he controlled. At that moment, he turned his back on Terri. And he turned his back on the most fundamental duties of his office.
It is quite clear that Charlie Crist, to this day, has demonstrated no public affection for the cause of life, or Christianity, or any set of core values. He has been posturing to become governor for decades. With each voting audience he has crafted a message based on the expediency of the moment.
To add insult to injury, at a recent banquet, our alleged pro-life candidate for the Governor of Florida said the following about Judge George Greer and other judges involved in the death of my daughter, "You are heroes to all of us, and your defense of the judiciary and what is right is beyond admirable."
Through his actions, Charlie Crist has demonstrated that he has no regard for our most vulnerable citizens, the high duties of public office, or life itself. Charlie Crists celebration of the merciless judges who condemned Terri to death speaks to his true character.
Mr. Schindler is the father of Terri Schiavo, who suffered from a neurological injury for 15 years before dying March 31, 2005, from dehydration. Her family valiantly fought to keep her alive after a judge ordered her caretakers to stop providing nutrition or hydration.
FV says: Like it or not, the death of Terri Schiavo is part of Charlie Crist's legacy. He failed to protect her civil rights. Terri Schiavo died March 31, 2005
What this man has described jives completely with experiences I have had with Florida government in unrelated, and much less significant, issues. It describes perfectly what I have heard from others in various other matters.
Florida government is a machine that heretofore has had to answer to no one except whoever or whatever it is that calls its shots and makes these spineless puppets step on the lives of ordinary citizens on their way to fulfilling their political ambitions.
The wheel of justice will grind like a millstone.

The RINOS in Fla will step on anybody if there's a buck in it for them.
It's not just rinos. Florida's legal-commercial complex is a cabal, a brood of vipers. Sure, it sounds like hyperbole, but I really don't think you can go over the top when describing it. I think it's too entrenched to fight. Jeb probably isn't a bad guy, but I don't see him as a fighter. It must be a very wicked group indeed.
It seems like so many Democrats have moved into the GOP over the years in FL and other such states that they have "moderated" the GOP into a carbon copy of the Democrats. The Demos who came in mostly kept their Democrat philosophy.
meanwhile, the Left has taken over the democratic party, proving that the whole thing has shifted left.
