Starbucks in Kentucky tosses out Dems (vanity, my headline)

Posted on 07/14/2006 7:52:20 AM PDT by ConservativeStatement

I hope it is OK to do a vanity for this but I read a funny/interesting article on the Cincinnati Enquirer's website which can't be posted on FR. Dems were booted from a Starbucks in Newport, KY. Thought some of you may be interested. If you go to www.Yahoo.com and enter "Starbucks in Newport" you'll see a pair of articles. I couldn't locate the article anywhere else but the Enquirer's website.

It should be okay to post the link, not the text.

"It really feels terrible to be discriminated against in such a public place,” said Kenton County Democratic Party Chairman Kathy Groob, who was at the gathering.

________

Democrats always the victims. "Discrimination."

So, they were born Democrats?

Tossing customers for being rude, bothering other customers or obstructing the business in some way is fine. But tossing customers for disucssing politics is not fine.

Hard to tell from the article what exactly happened.

Interesting. I think the Newport Republicans should hold a meeting there now. Now that the Dems have received their apology...there's nothing they can do to the Republicans.

“This could have been handled better,” she said. “It was humiliating.”

“They told us they would welcome us back,” Groob said. “I just hope they deal with the employees who overstepped their bounds.”

But... but... the employees couldn't help it. After all, they are just wage slaves in the capitalist machine doing menial labor because American society didn't allow them to get better jobs!

Oh, sorry. I forgot. That excuse only works the other way...

A scheduled meeting? I think Starbx was within their rights. The libs sure are whiney to call it discrimination. Let's just call it - 'you were asked to leave for scheduling a business meeting in our shop.'

Start kicking liberals out of Starbucks and all you've got left is a counter and some stale bagels.

Good for Kentucky!

Unfortunately, here in suburban Pittsburgh the Starbucks are solidly Liberal, if not Marxist, selling only ultra-liberal newspapers (NY Times, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette), Dixie Chicks' CDs, other batty enviro-fem CDs, and no real donuts.

This is no great loss because there are other coffee shops with pastries, newspapers of all sorts, etc. Some coffee shops even have fresh, real donuts.

Just what I was thinking! Mad liberals who have caffeine and lots of sugar to fuel their grande verde hate of anything right. Their reading material is usually right where it should be...in the pit of their arms!

“It really feels terrible to be discriminated against in such a public place,”

Well, it's really a private establishment, open to the public. but liberals always try to spin it so they're victims.
