I will be sure to read the whole thing. About Jackson, I don't think it is clearly understood how quick he was. Not articulate: his colleagues in the Senate were anything but impressed by his speeches. He soon left the talk for others. His background, however, was far more aristocratic than was thought, but his style was that of the Celtic chieftain from whom he descended: a natural warrior, a king. No wonder he was respected by the Indians, a people whom he conquered. He had what they called "medicine." and we Christians, "charisma."

The analogy of today's Armed Forces to the Jacksonians of the early 19th Century is an interesting one. Jackson and his supporters were enemies of the established elites: both the mercantile and financial elites of the Northeastern cities and the plantation aristocracy of the Tidewater South. The middle and working class white population of the South, Midwest, and Rocky Mountain states from which the largest portion of our military derive are the enemies of the modern day elite in higher education and the Fortune 500 type companies.

Some neo-conservatives wish for another Abraham Lincoln or Theodore Roosevelt. Neo-Confederates dream of a modern Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis. However, what may be needed to overturn our corrupt, liberal elite is another Andrew Jackson.
