"If Debka is correct about Silkworm C-802s supplied by Iran, I would compare this, tactically speaking, to Argentina's surprise sinking of HMS Sheffield using French-built Exocets in the Falklands in 1982."
I wouldn't really agree with that. It was well known that Argentina had purchased the exocets, so it wasn't any great suprise. The French however provided a great deal of assistance with combatting the threat from the missiles and ensuring that no further ones were provided. I can't really see Iran doing similar in this case!
I remember reading 5 or 6 years ago about Israeli developing second strike capabilities with nuclear armed subs. Can't remember where I read it though.
Trained by our " pals ", the Chinese.
For now, Israel has blockaded Lebanon. No vehicles will go in or out, except for those evacuating foreign (mostly western European) tourists. Lebanese civilians were warned by large leaflet drops to stay away from Hezbollah positions (targets).
A couple of more surprises and maybe Israel will (and the US)actually will do its business in Iran where it all belongs.
I think in the days of yore, at this point in time someone runs around the town and says, 'Head for the hills !'. Massive refuge problems possible.
Reports of Pikud Tzafon being hit.
I'm having trouble with this one...The C-802 isn't just some shoulder fired easily concealed system. It requires a Radar system for target aquisition and mobile launcher the size of a car carrier. I don't see them transporting, delivering, setting up, testing and training the system undetected. Also the damage from a "hit" from one of these would be devestating.
I believe the story to be false.
There's a lot that's been bet on the proposition that China won't allow Iran to trash the "world economy", because China needs her people to be working to make all that Wal-Mart crap.
What do I think?
I think China would have her people eat grass for a hundred years if it meant the end of American power.
We are very, very unprepared for the war that's coming.
Psychologically, most of all.
IF TRUE-
This silkworm attack is also a message from Iran that it will use silkworms against oil tankers if it's nukes are bombed to smithereens
I'm with you. If a Silkworm missile with near half a ton of explosives for a warhead were to hit a corvette (less than 3,000 tonnes), the corvette would be an artificial reef in half an hour.
I'd agree with those comments..unless the Silkworm didn't make a DIRECT impact on the ship...maybe it struck the water at the stern..so that much of the blast was dissipated...the ship and crew were very lucky...there are lots of possibilities. It wouldn't be hard to smuggle the missile, dissassembled, and its Iranian crew into Lebanon..
Hmm, didn't CNN announce a few minutes ago that Israel's northern command was hit by rocket fire? No word about casualties.
ChiComs are looking to rule Asia. They want American power out of Asia
Secondarily they are allying with oil exporters such as Iran, locking up long term oil contracts. They would love to weaken our power and influence in the Middle East. Dittos for Russia
With ground to ground rockets.
Picture of a sociopath and a monster...Bill Clinton.
