Dan Rather Should Stick to His Story ("Absolutely" believes fake but accurate story)

The other night Dan Rather was back in center ring. In an hour long interview with CNN's Larry King. Rather spoke with quiet fury about the suits at CBS who treated him, a 44-year employee, so disgracefully. It turns out that at the end, it was the lawyers--not actor-turned corporate honcho Leslie Moonves--who told Rather "we just don't have a place for you." But, as Rather understood--as has anyone watching the networks these last years--CBS News is a cog in an entertainment company.

I completely agree. Rather and Mapes thought they got the scoop of the century with this story, when, frankly, WHO CARES what George Bush did in the TANG 35 years ago? I couldn't care less...other than being impressed with the fact that he was a jet pilot, which is a very difficult and challenging job that they don't just let anybody do...no matter WHOSE son or grandson he is. But this story was the fruit of Mapes' 5-year crusade to find something, ANYTHING, to use against Bush.
Lame, lame LAME!

I think you have it backwards.
Yeah, it does look like it.
Or do I need another late-morning cup of coffee?
Well, I have an excuse. Dr. says "no caffeine" - so I haven't had my first cup of coffee, let alone a second.

Rather still has a fan club at the commie rag "the Nation". That should be all anybody needs to know about rather's lying leftist bias. Did larry ask him why he keeps calling himself a Marine when he got thrown out of basic?

[Wow, reading the last bit about Mapes' "victory lap" at the office really says a lot about the MSM's incredible bias.]

That's another bogus piece of reporting. She's quoted as saying she and Dan Rather broke the Abu Graib prison story in April. NPR and other "lesser" media were reporting that the military was conducting an extensive investigation into abusive conduct of some of its personnel at Abu Graib prison many months before April after receiving complaints from other personnel. The military was using its standard procedure of investigating and providing updates to the media, and many people, including myself, were aware of the story for months when the digital pictures came to light. The media then "broke" the story and reported it as if it had been covered up by the Bush Administration. The really arrogant part of this is the fact that the reason they were able to pretend the story was new was because the major news sources didn't bother to cover it at all until April because without pictures, they weren't interested in it.
