Below are Pelosi's remarks:

"As we approach the two-year anniversary this weekend of the release of the 9/11 Commission recommendations, Democrats renew our pledge that those recommendations will become law the first day that the House is won by the Democrats.

"A strong America begins at home, a strong America is necessary in the world and that is why our Caucus meeting today was dedicated to security. It is clear from what we heard from our colleagues that the cost of the war in Iraq, in terms of lives, the health of our troops, our reputation around the world, and dollars, is hurting our ability to be a force for good for diplomatic negotiations throughout the world.

"So much is happening. North Korea is testing missiles, Iranians are going nuclear, the Somalians are becoming militant, Iraq is not succeeding, the Middle East is exploding, and this Administration has not been able to be a force for the progress that is needed.

Without reading the whole article, her laundry list is little more than a listing of utopian ideals. Yeh, they sound good, but how do you implement them, Nancy?

Heck, John Kerry had a pocket full of plans, and he wanted a 'new direction', too.

While a 'new direction', too, sounds good in a speech or press relase, what, exactly is that new direction? Kerry never had a solid answer. So, what is your 'new direction', Nancy?

The Democrats' agenda includes socialized medicine, appeasement of terrorists such as Hezbollah and Hamas, cut and run from Iraq and Afghanistan, abortion on demand, abolishing religion, repeal of the 2nd amendment, gay sex (=AIDS), gay marriage, destruction of private property rights, higher and higher taxes, more and more government, and a weak national defense (using the Clinton model).
