Pretty much. I'd say the purge has begun.

Good though Joe has promised to vote with Dems if elected as an independent this will still bode well for our team. The cost of two Dems vs. a Republican in a general election will help distract attention and some resources from other races that the DSC and DNC would rather focus on. Goes from an easy win for a Dem to a wild card race where it would be possible though not likely for the Republican to eke out a victory
he he :)

This is outrageous. Just a scant 6 years ago, Joe was the VP nominee of the this party for crying out loud. Now he is being purged by stalinists.

The democrats have decided to give up the polical middle for the sake of the rights of terrorists.

Extremists supporting extremists.

I would never vote for Joe but I think the way his party is rejecting him really stinks. He has been a loyal Democrat office holder for decades, helped Al Gore almost get elected president, but now because he wants to defend America his party turns on him. Pretty low.

It is true that polls now show Lieberman would win big if he runs as an independent. But i agree with those who say the dynamics would change big time if Lamont wins the primary. Lieberman and his people would be dispirited. The Dems would be fractured. The shock waves of an incumbent senator being defeated in a primary would be a huge national story. So the Nov 7 race could be close too. Unfortunately the Republican, Alan Schlesinger, probably won't even be a factor.

See The New Yorker's "Talk of the Town" column in the current issue:

http://www.newyorker.com/talk/content/articles/060724ta_talk_hertzberg

Hendrick points out that one reason there is this action against Lieberman is lingering anger over the feeble speech on the Senate floor that Lieberman gave, eye lashing Clinton vigorously for lying to the nation and disgracing the office. So, the left is going to use the long knives on Joe for that?

This also says much about NE lefty voters who have no morality in their choice of good American candidates who support basic American values. Lefties never support basic American values, historic or spiritual. Conn. must really have some propaganda machine to buy into a Leftist world view. Mass, RI, whew. Horrors for those citizens who actually want to elect values' representatives that are not built on cut and run, anti-military, anti-American historicity.

Who knows, maybe the GOP can pull out a win in a three-way race?

Why the hell *cant* the GOP pull a victory against 2 Democrats?

It would be sad if we couldnt get 35% Rock-solid GOP voters in CT. Very sad.
