Yes he could. But (a) this could equally happen at any point for any (or no) reason if they so wanted irrespective of whether a vote is held on this issue and (b) there probably isn't massive opposition to this in the Labour Party, no more so than on several other issues anyway.

Yes but we can fire them at our own choice, hence they are an independent deterrent.
Tridents use GPS for guidance. Guess who ultimately controls the GPS network?
I'm not sure it's ever been confirmed definatively to what extent the immediate ability to fire (and perhaps more pertinantly target) the missiles is to be honest. It's one of those things that the government is not particularly forthcoming over!
There is a difference between the US saying "go ahead" and the US actually doing it.
You have a better deterent with a trident than without.
Britain has always stated it has an independent deterrent.
