Naturally Fibonacci numbers are fascinating. The self-fulfilling nature of using them to drive stock picks makes them much less fascinating in a manipulated environment. If someone published an article about stock-pickers using a correlation between a stock cycle and Michael Vick's QB percentage, then the self-fullfilling nature of stock-picking causing market moves would make Vick's QB percentage a similar phenomenon, at least until the next such correlation was 'discovered'.
