CAIRO, Egypt The fighting between Israel and Hezbollah exposed divisions across the Arab world, not only between Shiites and Sunnis but also between Arab governments and their citizens.
Key Arab allies of the United States, predominantly Sunni countries such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, fear the rising power of Shiites in the region: Hezbollah militants who virtually control southern Lebanon, Iraq's majority Shiite government, and most worrisome the Shiite theocracy that has run Iran for decades.
Yet many ordinary people, Sunnis as well as Shiites, are cheering the Lebanese guerrillas because of their willingness to stand up to Israel.
Sitting in the shade as he sold figs in downtown Cairo, Hasan Salem Hasan, a 25-year-old Sunni, summed up a prevailing attitude of the so-called Arab street: "Although Hezbollah is a Shiite party, we are all Muslims, and all Arabs will defiantly support them and fight the Jews."
On the one hand, predominantly Sunni Arab states are tacitly encouraging the destruction of Hezbollah, concerned it could stage attacks and create militant cells outside of Lebanon. There is also fear that militant Sunnis could join with Hezbollah as the Palestinian militant group Hamas has done to build a super terrorist network.

Arab and the religion of peace support hezzies? Shocked me.
I am still blood thirsty because of September 11th. I am blood thirsty because now I know for a fact that there are people who wish to have no peace and they will not live in peace with me.
I support any State that is bringing a super terrorist network to justice.
My prayer for Israel: I thank God for protecting Israel. May God bless Israel's Troops with the strength not to judge our enemy and may God bless Israel's Troops with the strength to send those who wish to have no peace to a place of judgment. May God have mercy on their souls.
I pray in Yeshua's name and may the first gift of free will remain.
Today, the Hezzies fired 11 missiles and only five were wounded. I know for a fact that when we or Israel fires 11 missiles there will be more then five people wounded. Yes our enemy hides behind women and children and innocent are hurt.
May God have mercy on all of us, and may we get this dirty deed done in Godspeed.

Good question. I am listening to Fox right now and Shep just mentioned quagmire. Wouldn't be no quagmire if they threw the media out of southern Lebanon. The entire world turn their back for five minutes and let the Israeli's do what you have to do to find people there who want to live in peace. For those who don't want peace, let them be judged by God.

It's not only that, but the arab people aren't all in alignment, either. I doubt any Sunni is rooting for the success of Hezbullah.
Headlines are often more powerful than the articles, because lazy people only read the headlines. Smarter people actually read the articles. Even smarter people wonder if they've been fed a line of BS.

sometimes that punk bully kindergartner needs to be pile driven.
I would suggest driving him into the dirt like a slimy little rodent in front of all the other little children so they know Hoosier Daddy.
matter of fact. I wanted two kids so I had three. I shot the first SOB that messed up big in front of the other two. You wouldn't believe how high I can get them to jump when I say, 'you better jump now!. Then I mumble coherently, 'I brought you into this world and I WILL take you out'. :-)

The headline is crap. It should read

Everything we hear confirms that.

Looks as though it is also the reporters from Fox News who keep saying that Israel cut and ran from south Lebanon and were defeated by the Hezdevils. And that they will again cut and run. And the two retired military idiots on Fox (who get their $10,000 per show) seem to be in agreement with Shep and the other idiots when they say that the US does not have the power to do anything about any Arab incursion. Looks as though we have some TRAITORS helping the terrorist out.

I'm shocked that the religion of peace supports terrorists.
If the Lebanese army gets in the way of Israel fighting terrorists then they should be taken down without mercy.
Screw world opinion Israel...take the cowardly Hezzies out. Full scale invasion, war the old fashioned way.

Fox Entertainment Group is an American entertainment industry company that owns film studios and terrestrial, cable, and direct broadcast satellite television properties. It is wholly owned and controlled by American (formerly Australian) media conglomerate News Corporation, since the company acquired all the stock of Fox. The transaction was completed on March 12, 2005.
It is named after William Fox, born Wilhelm Fried, who created the original Fox Film Corporation.

"Yes, our Hezbollah brothers! Go get those Jews"
A lot of us were glued to our TV screen Thursday watching the rescue of so called US citizens from Lebanon. How many recall the protest in Michigan and in California when people with dual citizenship lined the streets to protest, praising their brothers "Hezbollah" carrying their flag. I would guess that most of the people rescued are from Lebanon and that is where they have an alliance. Do they respect our government, our fine military, NO. They complained because they were not rescued fast enough. Millions of dollars have been spent rescuing them, Now they will come back home to our great America and go back to their jobs so they can send funds to support Hezbollah. Makes me angry. I do take exception for true Americans who were there just to vacation.

Owning stock ain't squat.
You need officers, directors, etc. to influence the company.
Of course, when you own a substantial portion of the stock, you get to name those folks to some degree.

Carrying signs and pictures in support of Hizbullah, the participants in the anti-Israel event called on Arab leaders to punish Israel.

This may be politically uncorrect, but I think those people knew when they went there (if they were to go there on vacation), that the region was troubled. They should have went to Switzerland, Scotland, or Denmark. If I have to assemble a rescue, then be patient and I will be there. When I get there, just a thank you would be cool. The rest are fleeing a hell hole and that is why they are either Canadian or American.
