Philadelphia may evict Boy Scouts council The Associated Press Published: Saturday, July 22, 2006 Updated: Saturday, July 22, 2006

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The city said it will evict a Boy Scout council from its publicly owned headquarters or make the group pay a fair rent price unless it changes its policy on gays.

The Boy Scouts' Cradle of Liberty Council, the country's third-largest, has been battling with the city for more than three years over the policy, which like the national Scouts organization forbids gays from being leaders.

City Solicitor Romulo L. Diaz Jr. wrote a letter to William T. Dwyer III, president of the Cradle of Liberty Council, stating that the council's "discriminatory policies" violate city policy and law, and that city officials have not been assured the group will not discriminate.

Unless the city gets a "fair-market rent agreement," the council will be evicted, the letter says.

The group has made its headquarters on a half-acre owned by the city in the upscale Philadelphia Art Museum area since 1928, when the city council voted to allow the Scouts to use the property rent-free "in perpetuity." The Scouts pay for building upkeep.

What sane society allows this kind of crap to continue?

This example of "defining deviancy down" is part of a single larger pattern, and almost everybody seems to have a vested interest in some piece of it. Just follow the ACLU'S ugly trail, and you'll find plenty of self-styled conservatives cheering on many their court-mandated efforts at social engineering. "You must respect my freedom!" quickly becomes "You must forget any values/morals you have and cheer me on when I gratify myself in whatever way I find pleasing!"

Think not? I remember when the civil libertarians fought to keep a notorious sex club open in what had been a public school building. Neighbors were horrified at what their children were being exposed to, but the deviants got the right to keep on deviating. And how did FReepers respond? By and large, they cheered on the deviants. After all, they were just doing their thing.

What part of "perpetuity" does the council not understand?

Let's put aside, for a moment, all questions of Christian morality (as Philadelphia has done). Doesn't gay men alone with little boys in the woods strike these people as a recipe for disaster? So not all homosexuals are molesters; the danger is enough. Or would liberals rather protect homosexuals' feelings than children?

On second thought, I'd like to withdraw that question on grounds of stupidity.

Of course to liberals, if you're not pro-homosexual, you're in the Dark Ages. I wonder what took the City Of Brotherly Love (pun intended) so long to evict those homophobic Boy Scouts off city property.

The Boy Scouts has been a faggot magnet for decades. Similar incident occurred in CA back in the 60s in the Palo Alto area. Now we have NAMBLA to further the cause of molestation of boys by queers. Sickening, but this is an alternative lifestyle supported by the deviant-mongers and deviant judges.

"Gee, a "Brokeback Council" it appears."

Are you sure you don't mean a "Brokebutt Council"?

The problem is, there's no agreement. The Philadelphia City Council passed a resolution in 1928, but they are apparently free to change that resolution. I don't believe that their original resolution has the force of a binding contract.

For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

I have long thought that there is that certain economic element to this modern depravity. The wealthy liberal supporters of sodomites need fear not, the predators won't bite the hands that feed. That kind of activity goes on on The Other Side Of Town.

I have a cousin who's lover was a particular bigwig MD with a particular international human-rights charitable organization...who took regular trips to Thailand and kept a Thai boy, and I do mean a Thai BOY, in an apartment in SF. Not exactly a peer relationship.

I'm of the opinion that most of this advancement of the cause of sodomy is rather cynically $$ motivated by corporations wanting every last dollar off of every last demographic population available transferred to themselves. Homosexuals are okay, they have money to spend!

And don't forget, the city of Philadelphia was the one who broke Stephen Girard's will (which stated a free education for poor white fatherless boys) to force them to take blacks.

And, no, I am not weighing in on that decision, but only mentioned it to show how Philadelphia treats contracts when it doesn't fit their agenda.

Apropos of nothing in partiucular, I've always admired this Boy Scout poster, from a simpler age when values really mattered:

The gay rights cabal will assure you: just because a scoutmaster has a sexual preference for young men doesn't mean he's gay.

That's Philadelphia for you - - trying to force the Boy Scouts to send young boys into the woods with sodomites illustrates the city's mentality perfectly. The battle really isn't worth it - - the Boy Scouts should pack up (no pun) and get out of that sick toilet Philadelphia as fast as they can.
