Report: U.S. Rushes Precision-Guided Bombs to Israel {NY Treasonous Times Alert]
NewsMax.com Wires ^ | Saturday, July 22, 2006 | NYT

Posted on 07/22/2006 10:47:22 PM PDT by Cinnamon

WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

Citing U.S. officials who spoke on Friday on condition of anonymity, the Times said the decision to ship the weapons quickly came after relatively little debate within the administration, and noted in its report that its disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others who could perceive Washington as aiding Israel in the manner that Iran has armed Hezbollah.

The munitions are actually part of a multimillion-dollar arms-sale package approved last year which Israel is able to tap when it needs to, the officials told the Times. But some military officers said the request for expedited delivery was unusual and indicated that Israel has many targets it plans to hit in Lebanon.

"NY Treasonous Times Alert"

"Seems that NewsMax is as treasonous as the NY Times..."

Treason is betraying your own country.

NewsMax and the NYT are both based in the US.

This reporting is not treason.

"its ( rushing delivery of bomb shipments) disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others " The New York Times

Arab League criticizes Hezbollah for attacks

By Hassan M. Fattah The New York Times

"key Arab governments are taking the rare step of publicly blaming Hezbollah, underscoring their growing fear of the group's main sponsor, Iran."

Like I'll be concerned that Arabs and others will be angry that the U.S. is supplying the bombs to drop on Hizbollah. Isreal is doing today, what the U.S. should have done 20 years ago.

Although the NY Times has betrayed America by leaking critical information about NSA intelligence-gathering activies, there's nothing treasonous about this article. This strikes me more as the Bush Administration giving the middle finger to Hezbollah and its Iranian backers. Bush is saying that he's going to pull out all the stops to help Israel defend herself and crush the Hezbullies. In this case, the NY Times is just the designated messenger for that message to Hezbollah and Iran.

Information that makes the NYT or MSM look bad, naturally.

Bombs will not accomlplish much against Hizbollah at this point. Hunt and destroy troops missions with drone support are what's needed now.

The Times is just a tool.

These are the ones who need a silent .22 Short in the neck.

I have an idea, I want Pics from all 50 States of Americans Peeing on the NY TIMES. Then it will be a Calender

A plastic container, any thing from a milk jug to a zip lock, fill with urine, place on top of papers in box. Put a small (pin) hole in the bottom so that it seeps out vice runs out. Have you seen how canines will sometimes urinate on another dogs head to establish dominance? The nyt has pi$$ed on the public long enough. It is time that we retaliated.

The BBC's story, Israel 'presses US on bomb sale' contained this error:

The weapons, including five-tonne laser-guided bombs, are part of a sale signed last year.

We do not have any five ton laser guided bombs. I e-mailed the Beeb, advising them of that.

The solution is easy. Try the reporters for sedition and subpoena them for their sources. When the reporters refuse, lock them for a few years.

If they reveal their sources, then prosecute them for sedition. If the reporters do not reveal their sources, they are safely in a cell where they cannot rat out our military to our enemies.

Either way, the leaks get plugged.

True. I was (of course) writing ummm...absractedly..But my modest proposal would be cost effective and would provide more inspration to other leakers to strive for better behaviour, making the leakers better people.

Heh. One way or the other.

I'm concerned about this statement..

"Citing U.S. officials who spoke on Friday on condition of anonymity"

I thought the NYT was in the business of disclosing dark goverment secrets for the good of the people... is the NYT covering up sources? inquiring minds would love to know who this officials on condition of anonymity are... it's in the interest of the people.

What's the issue with running this story? The money was approved by congress last year and anyone with any sense knows the U.S. is arming the Israelis. It won't have any impact - positively or negatively - on the fight against the hizzies.

THe world community should welcome this. Israel has no lack of bombs, but is spending money for THESE bombs simply because they are more accurate and therefore less likely to accidentally kill civilians.

The terrorists won't like this because they thrive on dead civilians, which is why they hide in civilian areas.

Hmmm...just thinking out loud here but wouldn't now be a good time for Israel to take a run at Iran's nuclear facilities? Saaay...maybeee...using precision guided weapons with bunker busting capability? Kind of like the one's they just put in a rush order for from us? Hmmm, curious.

They may consider the recent conflict with Hezbollah to be the perfect pretext for such an action. I mean you may as well go ahead and do it while the rest of the world is already hating you more so than usual. And we know they have the balls to do it as evidenced by their attack in 1981 on Iraq's nuclear facilities in Osarik. Just a thought.
