Reminds me of the DC snipers. Terrorized the area for weeks. Cops were everywhere stopping traffic on the beltway searching for white vans. Nobody wanted to get gas at a station near exits. Come to find out they were two wacko islamists.

Two vehicles were struck by gunfire shortly after midnight this morning, according to the state police. Hours later, two more vehicles were shot near Muncie and the state police Redkey post - including a semi tractor-trailer rig on Interstate 69. Doesn't sound good.

Odd that the MSM never quite got around to mentioning the islamist angle, ain't it?...

Well folks in Indiana are well armed - I hope some farmer finds the bastard in their field, in which case we won't hear about this again...

Yep. Surely wouldn't want anyone to know who the real enemy is.

It's right UP the road from me. I'm in southern Indiana.
I heard it this morning as breaking news from our local Louisville media.

It's just down the road from me, I'm in Martinsville. Hope someone nails this SOB soon, not like in Ohio a couple of years ago. That went on FAR too long before they got him.

We can expect calls to ban "sniper rifles," which means just about any rifle. If there is an Islamist wacko connection, it will be dealt with, if at all, very quietly. I hope they catch or dispatch the coward(s).

12:30am. Questions coming to mind that investigators will immediately want to know are:
- From what angle did the bullets strike the vehicles; front, side or, rear? If the impact was from the front, I'd be inclined to suspect some sort of iron sights as night vision equipment can really have problems when staring into headlights. Was the road two lane or, divided four lane? Again, headlight issues with night vision equipment come into play.
- Were the bullet trajectories downward, even or, upwards? This will indicate if the shooter was on a hill, rooftop, tree, overpass, ditch, swale or level field.
- Type of cartridge; pistol, handgun, shotgun? This determination will give clues about the shooters distance, location and mindset.
- Type of bullet; FMJ, SP, HP, Slug, Buckshot? More clues about distance and mindset of shooter.
- Estimated distance and location of shooter? This will tell how good/lucky the shooter was.
- Did it rain since the shootings? Since the shootings occurred about midnight, did the shooter leave any clues at likely locations? Spent cartridges, cigarette butts, footprints, wallet, etc? If the road wasn't particularly busy, the shooter may have been there for sometime building courage and/or waiting for the right victim. Do the dogs find any interesting smells?

As I posted on the other thread on this topic, we should recall the Zebra Killers in San Fran in the 1970s. They terrorized the city and killed about 15 people, mostly by shooting them but I believe there was also at least one machete attack. They were later found to be a group of Black Muslims whose "initiation" routine involved killing a white person.

I'm not far from Muncie. I work there. Indiana is usually pretty safe. I wonder what's going on?
