Prayer Request for Tyler's family

Posted on 07/25/2006 5:21:28 AM PDT by Protect the Bill of Rights

Last night my son's 15 year old friend was struck and killed by lightening.

Tyler was such a good boy, an exceptional athlete, an honor student and from such a wonderful family. He was the workhorse, the leader in deeds and behavior.

Needless to say the kids are devastated. They have been together forever, it seems. We are all devastated. No one in their wildest dreams would expect God to suddenly reach down and Tyler home.

It broke my heart holding my 15 year old son as he was crying like a baby, a scene repeated over and over in many houses in this part of the county.

Please pray for Tyler and his family. They will need your prayers of comfort. I cannot even imagine the grief of his parents or his brother. There but for the Grace of God goes any parent.

Please pray for my son and all of Tyler's friends. I wish with all of my heart they did not have to go through this...I wish with all of my heart Tyler was still with them. Not only will they need prayers of comfort, but prayers for strength in the days and months to come.

I truly believe in the power of prayers. Tyler's family and all of Tyler's friends will need God's comfort in their broken heards and shattered souls.

Thank you

Prayers sent. What a terrible loss.

Was there anything we could learn from the circumstances - or was it just a freak thing, walking in a thunderstorm?

My prayer also is that this tragedy will serve as an example to children not to test the elements of God's world...in a storm, run for shelter (a home or automobile) but never under a tree or tent (with poles to attract electricity).

It would be useful to hear the circumstances of the accident, so that maybe others could learn how to reduce their chances of this kind of tragedy. Many people do not understand how dangerous lightning is. Often, even victims who are not killed never fully recover.

To You, O Lord, belong many mysteries, for You are Creator God, but Your Word teaches that in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:10. Bring forth the faith that is needed in this hour, Merciful Father, for the grief over Tyler's passing is almost beyond endurance. Be the God of All Comfort to those with broken hearts ... be the God of Faith that joyous reunion awaits. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen ...

Tyler will live in our hearts. We cannot understand why loved ones, especially, are taken, sometimes too quickly.

Tyler was needed elsewhere. One day, we may be able to see him again. Then, he can fill us in on this new journey he has started.

God bless you all.

Prayers offered for the family and friends -- both for comfort and that greater good may come from this tragedy.

I also hope that Tyler, his family and your son are Christians -- in which case they may draw on God's awesome promise that "We sorrow not like those who have no hope." 1Th 4:13

Thank you all for the prayers.

I want to correct my mistatement above. We found out today Tyler was not struck by lightening, but he was electrocuted. It was a tragic, horrible, horrible accident.

I will visit his family this evening empowered with the prayers you have sent. I will wait a few days and then print these prayers so they can hold them close to their hearts.

May God bless and comfort all who mourn the passing of Tyler. May He fill the void left in their hearts with warm memories, peace, and strength. May they come together to share their sorrow, their tears, and their faith. May they feel Tyler's presence around them all the days of their lives, and may this be an unending source of comfort and strength to each of them.
